I've heard that pastoral people were healthier than farmers, I'm not so sure about hunter gatherers. Also why did you capitalize farmers?

In the early days of agriculture people could just barely feed themselves and animal husbandry was non-existent and what existed wasn't efficient at all. Hunter-gatherers on the other hand ate lots of meat and fish and weren't tied to their fields like farmers.

The transition to agriculture was quite catastrophic to human well-being like the early industrial revolution utterly wrecked the factory workers.

This was the 1930s not the 130s, Hungary had a surplus of food due to modern fertilizer and technology, food production outstripped population growth and the poor could afford high calories high protein if they were willing to cut spending in other areas.

Farmers being the majority of people for most of civilized history can't be generalized as one group. A serf in 1840s Russia might be unhealthier with a less varied diet than a cattle farmer in 1500s England. The earliest farmers had less opportunity to trade and grow varied crops and had less efficient tools which meant they worked harder and ate shittier food than the hunter gatherers who ate more varied diets that the human body is evolved to do.

hungarian here, grown up in the countryside. these photos are surely staged and most likely not featuring actual farmers. the hungarian peasant male is more prudish than even the women, and there's no way they would appear in public without at least a long-sleeved shirt on, much less pose for photographs. this would have been judged similarly as featuring in explicit gay porn.

This has been posted on here countless times. These aren't photos from Hungarian peasants. Its a staged photoshoot made by a Swiss gay poet and photographer. Google his name. The photos were taken in Switzerland. In some of the photos its the artist himself posing as a peasant working the field. Its not clear if the other guys are just models or actual Swiss peasants he asked to pose shirtless for him. Probably the former.

The real question is, why are conservatives so drawn to naked man and homoerotic themes ?

farmers in europe in the 1930s isn't the same as neolithic farmers with very primitive tools, farming has greatly improved thanks to science

The average Hungarian has like a 5% asiatic component. The other 95% is pretty much the same as all their neighbors, r1 haplogroup, Indo-European and Anatolian farmer, etc.

This will be lost in the spam, and this is a moron thread, all replies are worthless.
But bone density was higher, and to the extent people appear lean it's because they are eating the high quality food hunters had, not onions and junk food.

Because they hunted their own food, if an area had no food they could just move somewhere else. This is true for both hunter-gatherers and pastoral communities. In agricultural communities most people were at the mercy of the weather and other factors which affect food production, also the fact that they weren't evolved to subsist on a vegan diet. This led to the farmer caste being malnourished while the rulers were the only ones eating well.

They probably draw conclusions from an extremely short snapshot of time when farmers were essentially slaves kept at subsistence diet by their rulers. Animal husbandry must have been a thing historically along with agriculture and they were still foraging for seasonal goods; and fishing. Look at an extremely good and diverse diet in pre-colonial South America - potatoes, tomatoes, pumpkins, chicken, corn, fish, berries; farmers got all these things.

Farmers are very strong when young, but repetitive activities like picking, cutting , bending over, etc, take a heavy tole on the body. Also 1930's farmers enjoyed many advantages in diet and lifestyle that earlier farmers did not. many yearly farmers had very limited diets, low on protein.
