It's kinda comfy not having to worry about dropping the thing or accidentally breaking something because
1. The thing's bulletproof
2. It's easily user-repairable, you can swap ram, wifi cards, heatsinks, keyboards, screens really easily
3. Replacement parts don't cost multiple 100s of $
Also, might I add, windows 10 werks if you don't want a system to tinker with constantly, or you need it for something besides programming.
I'd use linux but I've had some hassle with it in the past and I don't want to frick something up, because I don't understand the system enough, and simply right now I don't have the drive nor the energy to learn it properly.

My experience with windows 8 which bricked itself on an update and made it impossible to boot anything from that hard drive from then on. What did microsoft do? Even they don't know.

some bad points about it:
-screen pretty bad, need full brightness to be clearly visible on a room with the lights on, looks just OK at full brightness though so i dont really mind
-battery life kinda bad, only like 5 hours on full brightness. I'm usually close to an outlet though so hasn't been a problem for me. if it was bothering me i could always replace the batteries
-thicc, which i don't mind because i actually get ports 🙂
