Didn't they say that they're not going to support the old APIs once they're removed from the business branch of Chromium? The pic was posted around a lot, didn't save it though.
Core extension framework code is too complicated and changes too often to just patch in and out whenever you want, yes

>Supporting the old extension API and still moving forward with the latest version of Chromium in forks is basically impossible
anyone else here written/run websites and earn revenue with ads but also use adblock on all their personal devices? even caught my ad partner/publisher's CEO running uBlock on his laptop lol
Dear god at this point I wouldn't mind.
The last thing that is keeping me coming back into the general letdown that is the internet is the convenience.
I don't even have that much fun on here, it's just a cheap easy distraction. For a short while my ublock didn't work with youtube anymore and I just stopped using youtube, because I hate ads so goddamn much. Here's to hoping ads everywhere are what tips the scale for me and I leave the internet as a entertainment platform for good.
The whole internet can become a service, it just won't be with me.
>he needs an addon to block ads >he needs yet another addon to block tracking >he needs YET another addon to block fingerprinting
Home home white man, be Brave.
https://brave.com
No it won't.
if they kill adblock at least 15% of their usershare will move to firefox, so I kind of hope they do
>if they kill adblock at least 15% of their usershare will move to firefox, so I kind of hope they do
People won't move back.
Nope, most normies using Chrome doesn't use ublock to begin with
normies aren't 15% of the userbase
Yeah, they're probably 98%+ of the userbase
Normies will eventually follow the power users like they did with IE->Chrome
Power users went from IE to Firefox, and they always stayed on Firefox while normalgays went to Chrome because it has cooler branding.
>not going to brave
>a chromium fork will solve it!
Yeah, ok kid
Yes.

I intentionally keep my firefox on an old version. 😉

the developer already said he's not going to support it, so yes.

>only white men like ads

https://waterfox.net/
you already know the answer
https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/uBlock-Origin-works-best-on-Firefox
gorhill said it will most likely be compatible
Nice, sounds encouraging.
Yes, it will.
I will switch when adblocking gets noticeably worse, and not a moment sooner.
Come back to Firefox
Yea already confirmed
Not my problem, I use firefox.
Just browse HTML only sites bro

Everyone I know that works in adtech uses ublock origin

>not just using a pihole
Doesn't block first party ads which most services are moving towards.
what he said, pihole doesnt work as well as you think.
pihole and host files doesn't circumvent anti-adblocking scripts.
ublock origin has always worked better with firefox.
