China has a law saying that government computers must be domestic silicon and domestic OS (a Linux distro) by 2024, and they're basically there already. Chinese desktop CPUs are about equal to AMD laptop CPUs in performance, so for an office computer that's going to be plenty, and for the army it'll be a huge upgrade from all the 80s computers they're still using.

Which NATO country has the US ruined?
You have a pretty skewed view on international politics it seems. Ask any of the Chinese neighbors what do they think about constant military harassment of their borders.
Western governments won't put you in rehabilitation camps for defying the party. They won't disconnect you from every single IT system for defiance. I know the West is salivating at the prospect of implementing Chinese-style population control, but we're not there yet.

They are expansionist, so they are trying to prepare some autarky.
>they are either on a proprietary arch or MIPS-compatible to keep compatibility,
aren't they Zen-based? AMD licensed first generation of Zen architecture to China, so they could produce CPUs for themselves.
There are basically two lines of Chinese silicon. One is the x86 clones they bought from AMD, the other is their domestically developed MIPS, which was spun off from ancient VIA chips.
The x86 ones are the more developed and supported ones, obviously, but the government is more interested in the MIPS.
The x86 ones are the more developed and supported ones, obviously, but the government is more interested in the MIPS.
VIA still exists in partnership with another company and they never stopped designing X86 cores. The Zen1 based Huangchong shit CPU from a subsidiary of AMD was a one off and isn't related to anything else coming out of China.
Explain how chink backdoor is bad for me. I couldn’t care less about Xi Jinping spying on me since I am a nobody anyway. I just want a cheap and powerful cpu so is that too much to ask for?

A new high performance Lemote machine will be based as frick though. Its long overdue.
That's not how it worked. China never had the Zen architecture itself, all they did is to have AMD add some Chinese crypto algorithms and GloFo manufacture the chips. The only thing that Hygon did was to package the CPUs, slap "Made in China" on them and sell it domestically. There was no transfer of IP, Hygon can't replicate the CPUs.
AMD sold the designs to Zen1 to a subsidiary of itself that it created to sell domestically in China. They only have a variation of Zen1, and its lower performance, significantly in some regards, to our familiar Zen1 SKUs.
Lemote has nothing to do with this company, and this chip has nothing to do with Zen at all.
The Loongson CPUs are MIPS designs. They're long storied now, RMS famously uses a laptop utilizing one of their processors. Back in the day just before AMD's Brazos and Llano APUs had real market penetration, these Loongson chips were outperforming intel Atoms in a bunch of workload, having great FPU performance.

The absurd cost of diesel probably plays a big part in this. My father used to be very firmly anti-Russia, but ever since the sanctions and the skyrocketing price of fuel and electricity, he's turned 180 and now says we need good relations with Russia and that the USA are shits for pushing this conflict on Europe, "when Russia just wants to be left alone".
We've been paying more than ten dollars per gallon for months, and the prices are only going to continue climbing. These would be high prices for winter, but this is summer! We are actually going to have people _freezing to death_ this winter if things don't change. Sweden being one of the best countries in the world isn't long for the world when ordinary families start having to shelter in schools come vargavintern.

this is cope, nobody is going to gulag you for saying china bad in china. unless you're actively being harmful to other people, the government there usually leaves you alone, and has a higher tolerance for wrongthink compared to the modern police states of the west. of course, this isn't to say that it doesn't silence people sometimes, but again, in comparison it always comes out looking better. why is it that westerners have lost faith in their government while the ccp gained trust over the years?
that might be the case. the usa's cold war bullshit is having a material effect on its population this time around, and they aren't doing anything economically to show that life is better over in the west this time around, instead choosing to rely on its propaganda apparatus and military force. their country is falling apart as a result of neoliberal policies, it's actually amazing how they can't reign in their imperialism even when it leads to the destruction of the capitalist system itself, the same thing with climate change
And China isn't interested in controlling their population? If you're going to shill at least make it believable.

You can find them in some systems which are mostly sold in China, but also some SEA countries. If you find a company willing to ship then you can get your hands on one.
I checked the obvious China stores but couldn't find anything. I don't think I can be that bothered yet. I doubt they're being produced in a large number yet.
I just want a RISCish chip with a whole lot of floating point vector registers which work on memory that's co-resident with non-vector instructions so I can drop using GPUs and go back to software rendering. This looks pretty close.

Sweden being one of the best countries in the world isn't long for the world when ordinary families start having to shelter in schools come vargavintern.
>be spied on by USA, a country with a long history of imperious misbehaviour and a lot of power over your government
or
>be spied on by China, a dump on the other side of the planet that sells cheap things and sometimes bickers with Korea and Taiwan, two other dumps on the other side of the planet
>China
Actively raising its population out of poverty
>USA
Actively driving its population into poverty
i might actually migrate to china or vietnam at this point, is there even any point in staying in the usa or europe in 1989+33?
this is cope, nobody is going to gulag you for saying china bad in china. unless you're actively being harmful to other people, the government there usually leaves you alone, and has a higher tolerance for wrongthink compared to the modern police states of the west. of course, this isn't to say that it doesn't silence people sometimes, but again, in comparison it always comes out looking better. why is it that westerners have lost faith in their government while the ccp gained trust over the years?
that might be the case. the usa's cold war bullshit is having a material effect on its population this time around, and they aren't doing anything economically to show that life is better over in the west this time around, instead choosing to rely on its propaganda apparatus and military force. their country is falling apart as a result of neoliberal policies, it's actually amazing how they can't reign in their imperialism even when it leads to the destruction of the capitalist system itself, the same thing with climate change
Not hard to believe since AMD sold Zen 1 tech to China to keep them afloat.
Don't care got a 5600x and 5900x
Matches it in what? Core count? Die size? TDP? Backdoors?
>Backdoors
they actually aren't good for security, so they probably don't put them in
>they actually aren't good for security
Then why does intel add so many of them.
they're not concerned with national security/crime as much as controlling the population
meds + cope + dilate
go + back + to +
And China isn't interested in controlling their population? If you're going to shill at least make it believable.
not in the same way the usa does, no. chinese government censorship is blatant, and it's blatant on purpose. they have a much more open and clear relationship to the exertion of authority, all the political lines that you cannot cross are marked down, as well as the freedoms you're allowed. there have a very different philosophy towards state power, propaganda, and censorship over there
not + a + rightoid + take + your + meds + schizo
Are you joking? The CCP is extremely paranoid as all dictatorships are.
brainwashed mutt
>Name calling, the most effective strategy
Just admit you've lost. The CCP won't put you in a gulag if you abandon the thread.
why do they assume that only americans hated chinks?
none of their neighbors liked chinks not even their own people, muslims and terrorists. maybe wumaos are real after all lmao. or is this just an autist who valiantly loved chinks despite never living there or close proximity with them.
Exactly, the seamonkeys hate china even more. You'll see the same pattern on /misc/, it's largely the europeans that are neutral towards china. My theory is that both the mutts and the seaBlack folk are intimidated by the rapid progress of china with respect to their own
Western governments want children to be groomed in schools.
Because the state lets them run a mono/duopoly
Oh it's MIPS? x86 already killed that.
Next.
>Based on simulations.
>Proprietary architecture that's completely unknown outside China
>Caps out at 2.5GHz
Good on them if these stats are actually correct (nobody has a working product yet), but it won't be changing anything in the ARM or x86 space anytime soon.
too long son
where's the chip and silicon shortage israelites are telling me about?
>Loongson
mainland commies suck so much with english, the chinese name is Longxin which translates to Dragon Heart. But noooo lets romanize it to fricking loongson instead which is twice wrong and sounds stupid.
t. expat chink
Wrong moron
Can you get these chips outside China?
You can find them in some systems which are mostly sold in China, but also some SEA countries. If you find a company willing to ship then you can get your hands on one.
I checked the obvious China stores but couldn't find anything. I don't think I can be that bothered yet. I doubt they're being produced in a large number yet.
I just want a RISCish chip with a whole lot of floating point vector registers which work on memory that's co-resident with non-vector instructions so I can drop using GPUs and go back to software rendering. This looks pretty close.
There are some random Aliexpress listings for the Lemote systems and Loongson dev boards
