don't remember, I used it before Meta brand

you only need a meta account, not a Facebook one like before
it's easier to make and doesn't need as much info
also I don't know how you expect a console that only has online shop for games to function without an account?
sure you could tie it to the hardware maybe but then you lose your games if you ever want to switch

where is the integration with the Apple ecosystem which is Vision's main selling point?

costs less and can play audio from the headset itself and not just from the computer

People don't buy the vision pro because it's better or worse, they buy it because they blindly buy any apple product, especially in the US.
It's similar to Nintendo gays, they won't care about VR or OLED etc. until Apple or Nintendo does it.

This is because the bulk of the VR user base are 14 year old boys playing games. That's because Quest is a video game console first and foremost.

The primary issue with video content is the lack of cameras. Are YOU able to record a 3d video of yourself doing a vlog? Exactly.

    >ARM
It's just going to be a silly toy. Anyone legitimately serious about VR is going to wait for AMD64 VR since you get really really really nice things like RSR which is realistically the only way you're going to get 4K per eye with ~30W TDP max.

You've clearly never used RSR before. Not as good as DLSS but it's compatible with like 90% of PC games and more importantly VR games.

The 7840u can already give you passable 4K from 1080p native for PC games made before 2015 and many VR games already.

Meanwhil ARM still heavily struggles with GTA V from 2013..

Have you not heard of streaming to your headset from your PC? Virtual Desktop is great, and once you crank the bitrate to 400 Mbps there's no artifacting to speak of. I can even enable Snapdragon GSR to give the headset something to do.

Literal moron. Yeah, everyone is clamouring for a much more power hungry and hot chip to strap to their face for a graphical upgrade that doesn't require it at all and already has equivalents and better options being worked on for ARM. Fricking moron.

      >Shoving x86 platform in goggles when ARM has its own library and cat just stream PC games to it and overall just werks

There's no reason to get either of these until they get jailbroken and even then they will likely lose functionality. Standalone, walled garden headsets are a complete meme and have only served to moron the open source PCVR movement.

Quest 3 rins on Android, and pirating stuff is literally easier than PC

vr is a meme, most people drop it because they either get bored or because 10 minutes in they feel like absolute shit using them

The Quest VR headsets are good, I like them. Pretending that the higher resolution isn't a huge fricking deal is incredibly stupid. It is merely a cost issue and as the component part costs come down every headset will have the higher VR. Apple put out a dev product to get people excited about the future possibility which will prompt developers to see the potential. There are videos of Zuck showing off Quest prototypes that are doing more or less what Apple is doing with the screens.

VR goes mainstream as the headsets get lighter and the resolution goes up. The software is ahead of the hardware.
