I rather fail to see the point of MBP. Air is a reasonable poorgay option when you need some specific things the iPad sucks at but MBP is just paying more for that without any real advantages unless you want to transcode on your laptop 24/7 for some reason.
>much more flexible
kek
>>much better form factor
could have had thicccer battery
>>much better screen
yes
>>much more flexible
the last one was too flexible and this one is worse
>>"phone apps" cover most productive tasks
Let me dual boop
this shit doesnt even have a 3d camera like the iphone. a single usb port on one side isnt enough
Nta
The bigger battery would make it too heavy to hold comfortably
They still hit the 10 hour mark
They put a bunch of production apps on it
Look at the event
3d camera? You mean lidar? It has that
It doesnt have the spatial video thing though
>It doesnt have the spatial video thing though
aka the stereo 3D camera
All high end apple products should have this.
I don't care much about it but it's indeed weird to skip on it when using the pro label and selling it for a very prosumer oriented price.
>could have had thicccer battery
What for? They reached a pretty good amount already. More at cost of more weight wouldn't be worth it for most people. Like lol, are we forgetting how everyone just wanted 8h back in the day?
>the last one was too flexible
It really wasn't though. Just don't sit on it.
Would be cute indeed, who knows whether there will be an option now that their keyboard has all the necessary keys.
>this shit doesnt even have a 3d camera like the iphone
"Man, I wish the iPad had a better camera" isn't something too many people hope for.
Also what would you even connect to it with two USB? It has power over the keyboard anyway.
>Also what would you even connect to it with two USB?
Monitor, storage, networking, peripherals.
or simply having the convenience of charging from whichever side is closer to an outlet without doing gymnastics with a cable to create a tripping hazard that'll knock things off your desk. A simple magsafe port on the left side. A usb port would mean you dont have to carry a dongle as extra weight. I'd rather video out and power on its own port to reduce lag and stutter.
the device is designed around inconveniencing the user to buy more junk to carry around
>networking, peripherals
Bro, come on. It's 2024, not 1924.
I'm sorry, is this thing replacing my laptop or is it a doorstop?
It removes the need to use a fricking wire, so of course it does. What you talking about is emulating the same laptop experience someone would have two or three decades ago, which makes no sense.
Why the hell wouldn't I have a wired internet connection on a laptop dock? Are you stupid?
>Why the hell wouldn't I have a wired internet connection on a laptop dock?
Why would it? wi-fi 7 is faster then any usecase you can possibly try to pretend you actually need and use constantly.
Wireless networking is and always has been unreliable, that's why no datacenter on the planet uses it. 2.4GHz USB annihilates bluetooth, nevermind wired.
What sort of work on a laptop would you do that would require the bandwidth of a datacenter?
All I require is a connection that doesn't drop out and lose packets. It's a stationary dock, there is no reason at all not to have an ethernet connection.
>Data center
We are talking about your fat ass sitting at a desk with an ipad here
>Unreliable
Works on my network
>2.5g
Wifi 7 can easily do 1.7Gbps
Please describe in detail your use cases where this would be insufficient and 2.5ghz would not
Remember we are talking about an ipad with 512gb of storage
2.4GHz is for USB peripherals, you idiot.
>1.7gbps
10 gig ethernet exists, but this isn't even about the raw speed, wireless just never functions properly. This is a pattern I have observed across every wireless device I have ever owned, across all of time, no matter how expensive.
>Please describe in detail your use cases where this would be insufficient and 2.5ghz would not
>Remember we are talking about an ipad with 512gb of storage
running imovie while streaming 2 different 4k60 feeds from iphones, a 3d spacial feed from 1 iphone, and a 1080p30 feed all to the ipad
>two 4k60 feeds
Wouldn't worry about network bandwidth when the device itself won't be able to handle none of that
a single magsafe on the back so I could stick my iphone to the back and use it as a selfie facetime camera on my ipad
Yeah it's flexible alright
Apple specializes in extorting braindead consooomers if you haven't already figuired it out yet. They unironically convinced people to buy computers with a soldered SSD.
The sky is the limit it seems.
I want the 13” M4 iPad Pro with 2TB of storage
I mobile game a lot and that tablet is the best
Also to watch movies and tv shows
Nice bait
>Everything i don’t like is bait
I play cod mobile a lot and that huge screen makes a huge difference plus the much more powerful chip
>only supports iphone apps
These are not iPhone apps.

You dont understand the g just blatantly lies because they are emotional feminized males
Tbqh I wonder if it's lies or dumb fricks just being ignorant.
>article publisher app
KEK, KWAB EVEN.
the only reason final cut pro is available on ipad is because apple bought it.
>These are not iPhone apps.
No, these are some apps that have been ported with touch support for the iPhone/iPad/. Anons comment is still half valid.
>just why?
Because people will buy it anyway.
>Letting apple cuck you with what could easily be a ultra portable spin of the macbook air which would pretty much kill the surface line overnight.
You do you though
Now even the regular iPad Airs have M chips, and they have a keyboard that lets you use the thing on your lap, so they could honestly ship these iPads with MacOS and discontinue the Macbook Airs entirely. They could bully just about anyone into buying them then.
It's even more moronic when they can basically use a dex mode with it. MacOS can run mobile apps without issue all they could do is have a moron proof setting that puts it into iOS mode when the keyboard is disconnected or the user connects the ipad to hdmi
mac os arm was designed to run on an a12z powered mac mini
the pre m1 ipad and current iphones (that usb 3.0 port) can be your dockable mac computer
How do you kill something that is dead?
>just why?
ipad sales are down year over year for nine of the last ten quarters, and they haven't worked out that it is the shit os rather than the hardware that is the issue.
it will also be the high prices from now, as you have to buy one with at least 1tb storage to get 'something decent', at which point you might as well buy a macbook pro and call it a day.
American's like the smell of their own industry faeces. Talk about it all day on this site, go back to your daycare center.
I don't buy apple products but you do you
iPad is dead. Tablets are dead. I don't know why Apple keeps pushing them instead of just making a touchscreen Mac.
"What's a computer" my ass. A tablet is a weird inbetween device that is not as portable as a phone nor as powerful as a laptop.
Absolutely nobody will use an iPad for serious video editing even if you put the inferior version of Final Cut Pro in it.
My arm-chair theory is that the iPads are using lower binned chips. Which doenst really matter when running iPadOS but could make a difference running MacOS. Apple being Apple will never admit this, but its an explanation as to why iPads have desktop class chips but run gimped software.
>reach same performance with lower binned chips
So you're saying the "it's a magical piece of glass" isn't marketing but legit?
maybe not binned, just the economies of scale from the chip production and they need to put them all to use. Remember that the Studio Display essentially has a 64GB iPhone 11 inside it, for seemingly no reason other than to put the left over chips to use.
>other than to put the left over chips to use
And handle its camera features and sound. Also kinda makes sense to use a reliable chip they know well, instead of spending development time on Black person-rigging another solution. Tbqh, the storage is more surprising but maybe 64gb is just THAT cheap on the scale their order compared to lower capacity.

>IMPOSSIBILY THIN
like my 8' pencil dick
I just realized that background says pro. What a dogshit fricking design. What kind of failed abortion did they scrape off the street to end up with that fricking abomination?
Ive switched to iphone in 2013 after getting disillusioned with Android/Nexus devices which I had from the very beginning of Android. Over time, Ive slowly gone almost all in on Apple, only thing missing is a Macbook. Ive been ready to buy one, but Im starting to get disillusioned with Apple. The stuff is...fine. But removing features and the price etc starts to seem rather unappealing. Maybe Im just suffering from "grass is greener on the other side" syndrome,
>the price etc starts to seem rather unappealing
Indeed but then I look at "alternatives" and realize its still the least bad option.
yep, its just awful.
>MacBook pro is $1,500. just why?
some people are moronic, love being a brandprostitute homosexual, and simply have too much money
My favourite is how they always advertise their pads and phones with multi-coloured graphics that are produced on desktops and not the devices they are selling.
Most people feel more comfortable inside cages.
