>tfw the only data I keep are a collection of repositories and a pdf to teach myself chinese in a month
I want to brag but I know I would die without an internet connection
Please tell me why I need more than my 256GB + 512GB SSDs I've had for almost a decade. Don't worry I'll wait. >inb4 hoarding illegal materials like some third world brown criminal.
Have around 1,5TB of personal/non downloadable files, 1TB of programs/games, 3TB of movies, 1TB of anime, 1TB of music.
Very important personal files are also saved twice on different drives.
Also there is a backup to an 8tb NAS for most data.
For those looking to buy big hard drives, DONT DO IT.
All of a sudden you may or may not forget to unmount a drive correctly and in doing so corrupt the superblock so bad that even fsck can't fix it.

>1TB Gen3 NVME SSD as linux boot drive >2TB Gen4 NVME SSD as games, work, general scratch/work disk >8TB WD CMR HDD as a general Knowledge-Archiving Spinning Diskette of Destiny >8TB Seagate SMR HDD as a torrent drive etc I don't mind losing (i paid 60€ for this disk) >a fleet of 1-4TB HDDs as double or even triple-redundant backups of the important bits (<3 hotswap bay)
We're at the point where "a reasonable amount of storage" is cheap, 10TB is great so long as you delete the anime you've watched and delete 100GB games you've completed, but we aren't at the point of having excessive "frick you" amounts of storage yet. The point in which you couldn't fill it up even if you tried. That's the day I'm looking forward to, Petabyte drives (1000TB) where you could download all the anime you can find and struggle to fill it up.
i have a Qnap TS228-A
i bought it back when i was in uni
have two 3TB WD Blues in raid 1 config
i think its time to upgrade
i dont like building my own nas due to power consumption.
those little nas consoooom few watts its crazy how power efficient they are
Your point? I have some 41 TiB and even that is nowhere near the cool kids club numbers. I've been wanting to lowball some local chia shitcoin miners who are bailing out but they're all massive crybaby b***hes who think they're the hot shit and they aren't willing to sell the disks for lower than 80% of MSRP because "MTBF says they can last for 2.5 mil hours, 30000 hours shouldn't be a big deal for you, they're almost like new!" (lol).
>I only have 1TB
no I don't "need" more.
Sexo
yeah I'm going to pick up a couple 8tb drives soon, 6TB is unironically not enough for me and im considering going off grid so i will need backups

Data hoarding legal materials like some enlightened scholar.
>Hoarding illegal material like a brown criminal
Kek, careful not to choke on the big israeli wiener you have in your mouth.
Inside your actual computer 1 TiB is still way more than enough. If you're hoarding build a NAS.
I have 500GB of storage and I regret it.
PoS is the future my ass
500TB*
i havew 32 TiB of storage in raidz2 thoughbeit
>2024
>still post tranime
sad
Anime website newbie.
>still believes in this
nijika's storage is much smaller than bocchi's
>ibi meme units
why do they trigger me so hard? I guess I just really fricking hate gay Europeans

I am not a hoarder.
I have 4tb and it is enough for me.
I have about 60
