cloudflare is one of the hardest things to fix. It's intentionally made to only work with mainstream browsers, intentionally breaking web standards to detect use of curl and other tools.

  18. 2 weeks ago

The only reason to run SerenityOS is unironically for the DE.

      Anonymous

who cares about it anyway. it's just another VM toy hobby OS. the devs have no intention of ever getting it up and running on baremetal because it requires porting GPU and other hardware drivers and that is beyond the scope of 99% of programers out there. that shit is HARD. which is why most of these alternative OSes never see the light of day.

        Anonymous

back when it was 32-bit I got it to run on bare metal Pentium 3 system with the only compatible network adapter. However the display was totally corrupted and you couldn't really use it.

        Anonymous

        >that shit is HARD
no it isnt. if nvidia and amd posted all their internal datasheets today, bug-free drivers would appear almost overnight, and all the stereotypes about linux displays not working would evaporate in an instant.

          Anonymous

plenty of Linux drivers for GPU are open source and no one has bothered porting those so yea must be pretty hard. just imagine the mentality of "hey lets make a web browser for an OS instead of working on core hardware support." jesus christ.

            Anonymous

I actually like to see a new browser.
We literally do not need more drivers for linux since either everything has a driver or nvidia gives you drivers (binary blobs).

Literally changing the chromium monopoly and the FireCuck controlled opposition is important.

However it is FRICKEN B-S-D So no go.

Permissive (MIT/BSD) and "network counts as distribution" (AGPL) are the only sensible open source licenses.
If you choose the centrist GPL approach, you're only incentivizing companies to create cloud-only shit.
