8700g

What you think about the 8700g?
The only flaw imo is the price being 100$ more than then 8600g for only 2 more cores and better integrated graphics
besides that i don't see a reason to not go for it
>AM5
>DDR5
>AVX512
>Graphics are good enough to play emulated games
inb4
>buth muh can't play 4k 60fps
i got an old 1366x768 monitor with no burn in or dead pixels, i'll think about 1080p when it breaks

overpriced for the gpu performance it has
and you want expensive ram for it

could be great for ps2 era emulation in a couple of years when the price comes down

At its current price ($329) it is hard to justify over other options; if gaming is your thing a $100-$150 CPU + Radeon 6600 ($190 right now) will get you much better gaming performance for about the same cost. If you need CPU performance a Ryzen 7700 is only $270 right now and will outperform the 8700G in any CPU tasks, and still has a basic iGPU to drive a monitor.

not really into gaming, more into day to day tasks
price is ugly but its a good CPU with good integrated graphics
my plan is to simply make a small build, fill with ram, fill with storage and only think about buying something else in the next 10 years
my build right now lasted 9 years and all i changed was ram and storage
i don't believe in the next 10 years there will be any big technological jump
      so i'm good

I mean yeah. A Ryzen 7 7700 is $267. For 60 bucks you can easily find an used GPU like a RX580 or a GTX 980 that easily outperforms the igpu of this thing. And the 7700 is a more powerful CPU and actually offers full 16 lanes of pcie rather than 8.

what is the point of APUs anyway?
if you are not going to use the PCIe slots, then you may as well buy a minipc at that point.

the price is about the same but the miniPC gets worse cooling and less upgrade options

When you spam your meme amdjeet cpu, try to keep your scam arguments straight.

Nobody will fall for this trash when they can slap a rtx3060 into a cheapo barebone pc and get 4x more performance for the same cash they would spend on your shitty ddr5 platform, cash which obviously you dont have seeing you spam this thread here twice a day for 15 rupees an hour.

Not him what do you think of the 8600g? My last PC is israelitetel and a 1060. A 65w package with some fast ram seems like a good small PC. 3060 is overkill unless it's AI, there is not a single game worth playing that the 8600 can't play.

            >what do you think of the 8600g?
kind of a useless product, the 8700g has 50% more gpu CUs. do this instead

piece of crap because they once again crippled CPU performance
            just get non-g Zen4 + 1060
            and buy an ad

Beside for light gayming, more vRAM. dGPUs are limited to 8-24GB but APUs can access half of the CPU RAM you have and use it for vRAM instead.

Basically a wet dream for anyone working with AI because more memory = more speed hacks.

Btw i looked up "am5 8000 series motherboard" and not only half the people are getting shafted out of bios support , but also pic related.

You must be mentally ill if you think 1DP+1HDMI is useful in any way in 2024 to someone spending this much money.

Does it even support (my) dual monitors 4k@60hz + 2k@240hz without the igpu being a total spaz and sucking 80% tdp during idle?
You expect me to test that myself on my own dime? Because reviews are trash in that way, irl nobody gives a shit about running Borderlands 3 @ 30fps on a amdjeet igpu.

I threw one in a inwin chopin to use as a ghetto steam machine, it works really well. The igpu is impressively fast, and anything super intensive just gets streamed from my desktop. I think if you're going for a sff system and don't care too much about modern gaming, it's a wonderful chip.
