A question for FOSS developers

What happens if I say, take your code, put it in my own closed source project and put my own copyright on it?
You'll likely never know because you can't see the source code, and even if you could prove it you couldn't afford a lawyer anyway right?

Putting your own copyright on it is okay, as long as you put the original copyright notice on there too.
In the case of GPL linking, you would need an exception from the copyright holder to do things the license does not permit.

      >long as you put the original copyright notice on there too.
i will simply remove the copyright note from your code before implementing it

    >what is a disassembler?
    >what is a debugger?
it's low iq Black person monkeys like you that wonder how they end up sued or forced to hand over the source code for your entire project. many such cases.

If you're just some guy there's no way you'll get in trouble, but GPL isn't about stopping random buttholes from using your work it's about stopping big companies from exploiting commons. The bigger the company, the more liklihood someone will tell.

What happens if you're just some guy who steals foss code for his programme, then a big company buys your programme from you and the GPLgays get pissy? Who gets the heat then, big company because the own the programme or some guy because he stole parts of it?

I guarantee the big company would throw that guy under the bus as soon as this came to light.

I would just make sure to forfeit all intellectual properties to the big company after they buy it, and there's nothing they could do after the fact

nothing unless you draw too much attention to it
the truth is that copyright is not built around the unlimited nature of digital code
even proprietary code gets stolen for unrelated projects all the time
