Internal OTO administration documents up to and including initiation materials and scripts, from Francis King, Pat Koenig, and also the OTO itself in the form of their own editions for the stuff. How many midwits do you know puzzling on Hamilton's Quantification of the Predicate?
I've studied classical languages and logic. I'm sure there's more people scribbling such things than most would think. Crowley was smart in some ways, pseud in others. Smarter than me probably. But there was a pseudishness to whole intellectual scene of the era. Last century was such a dramatic change. 21st century phil is essential. 20th is both least worst and least best somehow. Depending on which half. Or maybe both. And perhaps I have too high hopes of this present day present time ah hahahahah
There's a fairly decent reason for that both were transgressivists, both were ritualists.
Acephale (the organization Bataille envisioned) means Headless. Crowley devised Liber Samekh which comes from the rite of the Bournless One. In the Greek Magical Papyri, this is called the Headless One.
That's very interesting. I don't know very much about Crowley, I guess I associate them cause Bataille was a coomer and Crowley seemed to be one too. Also I've read somewhere they had a shared interest on Gilles de Rais. Do you know if they were ever in contact with each other?
>I associate them cause Bataille was a coomer and Crowley seemed to be one too
That's absolutely fair.
>Gilles de Rais
Uh yeah sorta, I think Crowley and uhhh frickin' what was his name...Trelawney did some quasi ritualistic tongue in cheek "maybe this could be used by someone edgier than us" de Rais/Satanic Mass bullshit.
Nah, I don't think. Crowley was a good clip before Bataille's time. AC's career was in its public twilight by the time GB renounced Christianity and became an academic. Honestly given the uncomfy position he found himself in among French intellectuals he may have gone to extreme lengths to hide any contact he had with people similar to Crowley.

>Heka (/ˈhɛkə/; Ancient Egyptian: ḥkꜣ(w); Coptic: ϩⲓⲕ hik; also transliterated Hekau) was the deification of magic and medicine in ancient Egypt. The name is the Egyptian word for "magic". According to Egyptian literature (Coffin text, spell 261), Heka existed "before duality had yet come into being." The term ḥk3 was also used to refer to the practice of magical rituals.
Heka? Hecate? coincidence?

>Witches still go to cross-roads and to heathen burials with their delusive magic and call to the devil; and he comes to them in the likeness of the man that is buried there, as if he arises from death.

Drugged shithead pretending to be some hot shit. Garbage.
In a century that had Giuliano Kremmerz, this mongoloid anglo had to become famous. The irony.
I intend to read a biography of him by Richard B. Spence that focuses on his secret agent activity but I hope it will give enough space to his magic and spirituality in general
What about him?

What's your problem with the guy?
How many midwits do you know puzzling on Hamilton's Quantification of the Predicate?
Here's one since this is getting referenced obliquely in another thread.
The real name of A.'.A.'.? Aster Argos.
Crowley writes it in a letter to Achad. Also in the aforementioned unpublished papers. Picrel.

To be fair, having been a poet and novelist, Crowley has a lot more place here than most of the 'esoteric' content that gets posted.
>most of the 'esoteric' content that gets posted
Most folks aren't interested in text traditions. Unfortunately.
