Americans built their country on stolen land with the use of slaves, they didn't really care about any of that stuff. It was all just big talk to make their hissy fit over having to pay taxes seem more justified
>stolen land
true
>using slavery
moron. black worship is a mental illness.
They didn't have slaves?
>stolen
conquered*

Nothing was stopping blacks in Africa from making their own democracy.
Except the same forces that impede democracy elsewhere.
kek nice one
americans are anlgo bourgeois who evaded anglo taxes and just wanted to build a society on commerce and nothing else. they dont give a shit about being intellectual coherent. This is why atheist and their republics is deeply flawed and full of contradictions to this day
with the notion of "black isn't human".
Abstract ideals championed in the face of practical constraints. Jefferson didn't like slavery but not like he would wave a magic wand to change things. Like if he freed his own slaves, then what? Where the frick do they go? Not like they could freely move and do whatever they liked in the late 18th century/early 19th century United States, be it South or North
Just because in principle all men are equal doesn't mean that they want you join into their community.
It's like how you might believe in religious freedom, but still would agree with chasing moneylenders from your temple.
>>'All men are created equal'
I hate to break it to you, but Jefferson talked about anti-monarchism, not race
Source?
the entire rest of the document?
My neighbor is equal to me, but that doesn't give him the right to live in my house.
It's really fricking simple
>Africans weren't considered human
Voltaire, Kant, Hegel, and Hume are all major Enlightenment era Philosophers who were also all super racist and literally refer to Africans as separate species from "Man" (i.e Europeans).
Voltaire's critiques of the Bible and Christianity included him making fun of the biblical belief that all humans were related and shared common ancestry. He thought that Africans evolved separately.
>He thought that Africans evolved separately.
Oh haha what an INSANE idea haha how did he even come up with that haha
My professor mr shekelsteinberg laughed when I told him
Turns out most people don't actually care about morals, they just selectively use them to feel good about themselves.
*tips*
Equality and citizenship are two completely different concepts that nobody had trouble dissociating for thousands upon thousands of years until modern day propaganda. If the distinction between citizens and non-citizens incurs a difference in being given equal judicial fairness on a personal level then the specific law causing this disparity is a problem, the existence of citizenship criteria is still an irrelevant unrelated issue.
All men are created equal. Not all men grow up equal.
>'All men are created equal'
It was a dig at the king. Obviously people aren't equal.
