How do you put up with this crap? Why don't you obtain the book in a medium where you actually have ownership over it? What will you do when they start revising or removing more of your books that are deemed problematic?
Because physical books aren't waterproof
Neither is a Kindle.
Also, I'm finding it difficult to see how often the situation would arise to where a book not being water proof would be an issue.

In the future, buy drm-free epubs and transfer tham over manually, also make sure to de-drm your entire current library with calibre so you can back it up.
