From whence shall we expect the approach of obsolete? Shall some e core giant step the earth and crush us at a blow? Never. All the latest cpus of amd and intel could not by force overclock on a z68 or set a pin in the LGA 1155 in the trial of a thousand years.
>From whence shall we expect the approach of obsolete?
The world ended in 2012.
Core 2 Duo E8600 user here. Get the frick off my lawn
Core2 Duo T6600 user here.
Get your druk ass back inside this is nothing to brag about.
lord of the street shitters
>WAH WAH MY POOR THIRD WORLD CPU
I've used the 2500k for at least 10 years.
Worked fine.
I upgraded to a i7-3770k last year, some used cpu on ebay that fits the chipset on my otherboard.
I've noticed zero difference.
Are new CPU any different?
I can play any video game.

Post relevant argument, poorgay
Every sane Miner uses hardware that is considerably more powerfull than 2500kek. Unless you are pathetic enough to make your parents pay the electricity bill, its not even remotely profitable to mine Monero with this sandy-bridge potato. The vast majority of 2500keks only use their PCs to post about superiority of their e-waste on IQfy. For the most essential tasks, N100 is running circles around it while being 16 times more power efficient. Not to mention support for modern codecs and CPU instructions.
RANDOMX is an algorithm that tries to be ASIC resistant by generating random code.
The only way to "ASIC" RANDOMX is to make a better CPU. As such, it is actually a really good benchmark for CPU performance.
You are correct that two N100s will produce the same hashrate as a 2500K while using 8x less power.
However, if you're not mining crypto, or using a laptop, then the energy efficiency isn't important.
For a desktop machine, consumers want more speed, even at increased power usage. Single thread performance is also more important.
The TDP of the 2500K is 95W, compared to 6W for the N100.
The 2500K is the equivalent of 1.5 incandescent light bulbs, and less than 1/10 a space heater. Not really a big deal.
The 2500K is also very overclockable: most desktop users want more speed, even at higher power usage.
For easily parallelizable tasks, sure two N100s is the same as a 2500K while using less energy, but if you need that single thread performance, forget it.
> As such, it is actually a really good benchmark for CPU performance
Hallucinated cope to justify using poorgay-tier cpu. Most modern software will run poorly on this potato, not to mention that some will not run at all.
>You are correct that two N100s will produce the same hashrate as a 2500K while using 8x less power.
I have never said that.
>or using a laptop, then the energy efficiency isn't important.
Most people have to actually leave their place ocasinally, therefore energy efficiency is kinda important for a hell lot of them.
>most desktop users want more speed, even at higher power usage
You have no use case other than browsing the internet (if it wasnt the case, you would have already upgraded your hardware).
Your average netbook has a faster processor than this. Gentoo probably takes like a week to install.
How does my upgrade look IQfyuys?
>How does my upgrade look IQfyuys?
Bankruptcy inducing.
