The stupid monkeys at Google's Android Auto UI Design team have made it so that album art has rounded corners in the latest update. As you can imagine, this makes certain albums look terrible and is a completely pointless decision.
What's with the recent resurgence of rounded corner cancer in UI design?

Also before anyone asks, no, that's not my own screenshot. I'm not arsed going out to the car to take a picture of the screen, but the album art is the focus here.
why would you need a mobile os in your car you moron
Internet radio?
use regular radio
Ad-riddled junk.
real chads connect their phone to their car's bluetooth speakers and play spotify
>chads
>spotify
never
>not plugging the aux cord into your headphone jack to play torrented music
sharp corners would not fit into that style
just look at this
I don't give a frick what "style" they're going for, you don't frick with the album art. Album art is designed for a square frame, rounding the edges messes with certain art.
>rounding the edges messes with certain art
any examples?
>make border with round corner in same white as title and controls
>put square image in it
Besides their control icons have corners
that would look even worse
apple was always primarily about fashion you know, and android still somehow goes about functionality
looks better
Just get rid of all the rounded corners.
Problem solved.
Why do you need to look at albums?
Just download all the music you like, and could like, and throw it in a folder.
keep your eyes on the road

Apple did it. Apple is cool. So now monkeys must copy every bad decision Apple makes.
Apple started doing rounded corners in the 1980s. Why is Android just now catching up?
Apple quit the round corners after a while. They're bringing them back in recent years though.
>Driving a cell phone
Rounded corners? Can I get this straight, you made a thread just to rage against rounded corners?
I have a pen drive with music plugged in the car radio, never fails and never pisses me off. OP should try it.
Controls look dreadful.
Every other "premium" device in the past decade: Fairly high res pixel LCD with intuitive buttons or a touchscreen
"Premium" aftermarket car stereos: One-line 7-segment type screen with awkward ass controls using a rocking knob that mostly doesn't do what you expect
I hope you're fricking joking.
I had a kenwood radio like this and it sucked. I had hundreds of songs on my USB but it would end up playing the same few songs in a similar order without variation on shuffle
funny how those monkeys get paid 20 more times that your entire family tree
>OH GOD THE CORNERS ARE FRICKING ROUND PANIC PANIC PANIC
Seriously, go see a doctor about your fricking advanced, crippling ADHD, kids.
make your own then you homosexual
>using spotify
fricking zoomers i swear to god
its another we tech guys own music now middle finger
