You may be right with the 7% figure, but how is that measured? If it's all computers in use now then it's a fricked number because nobody gives a shit about your ten year old Dell server.
Funny enough nobody cares to be rocking a MacBook more than a few years old anyway. They also tend to run like shit and get deprecated fast by Apple.

>hey have basically a death grip over work computers
Anon here is right. When so much software is cloud and web based people can now get whatever laptop they want. Executives and managers want Macs, and they always have. The ones that are on PC almost always aren't by choice, but because IT requires it (or sometimes it's contractual).
The people that want a PC are almost always the tech nerds that refuse to get Apple anything cause it's Apple. I work in media and there's an even split between the two camps, typically necessitated by software, but they're always die-hard. But it's also kind of the roles they have too. The more creative types; audio engineers, graphic designers, editors, go toward Mac whereas the video engineers, live production/broadcast guys lean toward PC.
I'm the anomaly; I'm the video engineer that would rather use a Mac... woe is me.
Thanks for reading my blog.

Every laptop I've had that wasn't a MacBook had some dumb fricking problem that turned out to be common for that specific model if you googled it.
Dead pixels, dead keys, part of the track pad losing sensitivity, the wifi hardware just fricking dying after a few months.
Frick all that, I don't want to Google 12 different models and make sure they're all six months old so people will have found and discussed the issues.

It's almost as if they needed Steve Jobs to be successful
Steve defintely would have keep them from straying out into areas where they dont belong. There is plenty of innovating they could be doing, but the just dont. Instead of wasting money and time and cars and headsets. They could have put those resources in Homekit. That has so much potential but its absolute ass since they dont put any effort in, so device makers dont either. I honestly can't believe they managed to sell over 100k of these things. It's actually very impressive.
It was marketed as a productivity tool, which is ironic because Apple has completely backed off on their productivity software and tools because those wern't cool and didn't grab headlines, and were content on letting other people make them.
Apple really should bring back their server line including the mac mini server and maybe make a reasonable home server option (still offer icloud for offsite backups), go hard on their office suite, maybe bribe MS so that it's actually compatible with docx formats without breaking. Maybe build their own equivilant to teams/slack, idk.
Frick even their own content creation software is completely lacklustre and half abandoned.
Because macOS gives the user too much power.
Apple wants everything to work like iOS, where all apps come from the App Store, all ways to pay for things give Apple their 30% and Apple's own apps can use private APIs and Capabilities so nobody can compete with them, no matter how good they are at programming.
>more of that
this highlights the illiterate shareholder confusion very well. subhumans didn't get an iphone because of systems, subhumans got an iphone because they thought, believed, and were brainwashed into assuming, that ipieceofshit is a status symbol. and logically, that people will percieve and treat them better. fact of the matter is, however, any half technically literate individual laughs at them for being technically braindead.

Just by the Lenovo glasses for porn they're totally hands free and dont cover your eyes all the way so you can look down at your benis or to the sides to make sure nobody is in the room with you other than your digital waifu
How many people did they seriously expect to fork out $3500 for a VR/AR headset, when most people into VR don't give a rat's ass about AR capabilities and are just playing simhomosexualry or being degenerates on VRchat? Who the frick are they marketing to? How are they this delusional and out of touch?

Smaller but the more numbered fish can innovate with something new, the bigger companies like Apple couldn't keep up, and end up costing itself too much being across the board and complacent.
It's going to get worse and worse with Asian becoming a technology center.
3500*425,000 = 1,487,500,000
Apple “dying” is still more money than the amount of money everyone in this thread and everyone known by everyone in this thread will make in their life combined.
If they had some fricking games or something... but for now you can basically just run normal iOS type apps and they hover around in front of you.
They need games which use the sensors and detect your environment, then display actual monsters and things to battle as you travel around and go about your day. They could even pop out from behind corners and do jumpscares and stuff. And you could go meet your pals at the park and they'd all look like they had power armor on, and you could fight evil crab shaped bioroids. And they'd come out of the sky and land and you'd have to team up and shoot 'em...
But no they have tetris that hovers in front of your face. Dactyl Nightmare was quite literally more fun than the best Apple Vision game.
I could think of TONS of excellent FUN game concepts for Apple Vision. Apparently simple game boards for chess that work with two Apple Vision users at once are completely fricking beyond the capabilities of either the devs, or the system at this point. It's pathetic and just frankly embarrassing from what is supposed to be the world's largest and best company. It's flopping harder than the Metaverse.

I can see certain use cases benefiting from a headset like device. Mostly work related stuff, where you would need a serious multiple monitor work flows etc. I cannot imagine a use case where I come home and strap that thing to my face so I can watch a movie. Its DOA as a general computing and media device.
>Apple targets marketing for their $3000 hardware towards poor, tech illiterate American black women instead of the actual customers: rich white millennials and Asians. >Units don't sell for shit >Surprised Pikachu face 😮
They arent thinking. Delegation culture is responsible for that kind of non-sense. Hiring the wrong people, who make the wrong decisions...and then no one at the top bothers to actually look at what the company is doing.
>no one at the top bothers to actually look at what the company is doing.
The shareholders are all passive 401k investors so the executives have zero accountability outside hedge funds that actually want to destroy companies (nominally for diversity.)
>sharply beyond expectations
They ALLEGE that they've sold a few hundred thousand of these. I don't buy it. Maybe a couple thousand, tops. This hardware brings absolutely nothing to the table.
It's still so fricking weird to me that they thought their customers would like this product.
Their whole brand is selling technology to people who hate technology by making it seem cool and fashionable. VR headsets make you look like a fricking dork.
VR is fun for developer dick around projects like making an ebook reader where you flip virtual pages. You haven't lived if you didn't make a coomer porn mag room in VR.
Still, nobody has been able to give me a single use case for this thing. Not a single one. i dont even think apple gave one, like why would you buy this?
See the post above yours. Smartphones do literally everything you could want in a way that's easy and convenient. There is no realistic use case for anything that a smartphone can't do just as well if not better. Ask anyone why they bought an Apple watch and they'll say some shit about arrhythmia.

Apple runs entirely on the "emperor has no clothes" model and those people have no loyalty and the problem with a $3500 headset is if one of those diehard people buy it and realize it's a piece of shit, that's one more person who realizes "you know, Apple is full of shit".
People buy apple products as a status symbol, not because they're the best. It's bottom end consumers that complain about specs/bugs. Once the 'right' people aren't complaining too much apple stays in the game and everyone still* looks forward to their new iphone
>consumer confidence drives their iPhone sales.
You don't get out much, do you? npcs are all-in on apple products not because they're confident in their products, nor because they're "better" in meaningful ways.
>There is no such thing as "too big to fail."
tell that to the dinosaurs, moron
The frick you even on about. You are beyond moronic
RCA would like a word
I don't think even gayMAN could come up with something as supremely moronic as Selectavision.
learn you history lessons.
Apple is dying since Jobs died fro AIDS.
Apple stocks are a fricking meme. There is no way a company that barely makes 60% of the phones in his home country can be worth so much.
Everythign else they make is absolute garbage, from inferior computers to incredible unsafe cloud services (do you guys remember fappening?, when a handfull of coomers stolen thousands of sensitive pictures just by reseting the password) and useless memes that only mentaly chalanged people buy, like, "werables" and "vr glasses".
>Apple stocks are a fricking meme.
Share price growth has been flat for a year. P/E is high, debt is high. It's not a good stock it just has a high market cap.
My point is that APPLE IS NOT WORTH 2.5 Trillion. This is the perfect definition of a bubble.
The onyl reason this company did not crashed yet is because the S govemrent keep injecting money inside the company claiming it's to "defeat china".
It's like the CHIPS thing. Billions wasted on dying tech companies just to prop their shares.
I'm pretty sure most of that is from passive 401k investors.
Maybe you could argue the government is injecting money because of how moronic income tax law is but it's a weird way to say that.
It's so crazy watching them self destruct. It doesn't have to be like this.
That's what happens when you appoint a gay businessman with no technical background to run your company. Tim Cook is an even worse version of John Sculley.
they've the best phone and laptop. They can afford to throw shit against the wall.
apple barely has 7% of the computer market. if they were any good they'll be the dominant player instead of playing catch up to real manufacturers. apple gave up instead, went with a toy cpu and got destroyed.
>apple barely has 7% of the computer market
7% of the general computer market, sure. But they have basically a death grip over work computers. If you're doing any kind of art or design, music production, etc., you're gonna be on a Mac.
>7% of the general computer market, sure. But they have basically a death grip over work computers.
if that was any way based in fricking reality instead of fantasy land that might actually be true. thankfully it's a complete lie.
> muh audio and multimedia
maybe 20 years ago. just barely. ever since then? no. you're tripping, iBlack person.
iBlack folk keep saying "gold standard" but the only gold they've ever seen is the colour of the river that flows down their designated shitting streets.
>If you can’t see how making a VR headset gives them the opportunity to set the standards
they merely copied their competitors that were already manufacturing superior devices. how do iBlack folk playing catch up set standards when they can't even sell the device? lmao. you iBlack person street shitters are hilarious.
you're a delusional jobless loser with bias trying to sound smart. I couldnt care less what brand my laptop is as long as its good.
Oh really?
Come to Hyderabad. You have millions of animators and graphics designers working on windows.
Then got to Mumbai. No MAC used for their Bolliwood CGI
Heck. My own cousin is working with core 2 duo to animate his models on Maya
>Come to Hyderabad
I'll pass based on the stench alone.
So you've been there before?
>So you've been there before?
I can literally smell your posts Ranjeet.
Is that yes or no?
No, the closest I've been to Hyderabad is Vancouver.
I really wonder what the pinnacle of artistry, Aka Japan uses for their animation. Also, I don't think Disney use mac either, they have their own custom linux based graphics cruncher supercomputer
Disney is a failing company, I highly recommend not doing whatever they're doing.
They aren't failing because they can't animate well. They can do it so nicely that they can make a totally realistic looking video of your mom getting fricked by me, just by looking at our photos
They are failing because those animators are made to create ugly characters and animate for shitty stories.
>They aren't failing because they can't animate well
Honestly I disagree. Old Disney animation is a lot more memorable than 3D slop.
>Come to Hyderabad.
We're already trying to keep you gross people there but you keep reproducing like fricking rats STOP IT
apple’s the gold standard for video and audio editing/engineering.
If you can’t see how making a VR headset gives them the opportunity to set the standards for VR content.
Also, they make most of their profit from services like iTunes and AppleTV, not hardware.
>apple’s the gold standard for video and audio editing
Their machines are underpowerd for that
>/engineering
They're *way* under powered for that and too much of a pain to administrate.
They have more debt than cash.
>Their machines are underpowerd for that
Spoken like someone who's never used a M series macbook before.
>They have more debt than cash.
Anon, at least try to make it less obvious you're not moronic...
https://www.apple.com/newsroom/pdfs/fy2024-q1/FY24_Q1_Consolidated_Financial_Statements.pdf
>Spoken like someone who's never used a M series macbook before.
I use one every day at work and am glad I don't have to edit videos on it.
How much ram does it have
>If you can’t see how making a VR headset gives them the opportunity to set the standards for VR content.
This isn't 2007. It's not like Apple is spearheading the creation of a market sector here like with the iPhone. The standard has already been set, by PCVR and Oculus/Meta Quest.
I think the R&D for making the headset is worth more than actually selling the VR headset, especially the sensor array. I could a scenario where you have the sensor array at your desk. Instead of strapping stupid goggles to your face, the sensors let you interact with a display Minority Report style.
we've had that shit since the 80s
>same tech but requires exercise to use
DOA in america
>apple barely has 7% of the computer market
Maybe the overall market but for a single manufacturer to have 16% of all computer sales in a quarter is phenomenal. Especially one that is seen as the "premium" brand when you can go buy whatever dogshit laptop from Best Buy for a few hundred bucks.
I'm the anomaly; I'm the video engineer that would rather use a Mac... woe is me.
Thanks for reading my blog.
>for a single manufacturer to have 16% of all computer sales in a quarter is phenomenal. Especially one that is seen as the "premium" brand when you can go buy whatever dogshit laptop from Best Buy for a few hundred bucks.
I just want to know I can buy it on day one and the basic parts of the hardware don't just fricking die.
I fricking hate osx but it's the only option if I want something that will still do the basic laptop things after a year.
>The year is 2012. Microsoft has bet a significant amount on the Windows Phone and Windows 8. Both are failing. Microsoft is clearly dying.
>The year is 2014. Google has bet a significant amount on the Google Glass and it's failing. Google is clearly dying.
>The year is 2024. Apple has bet a significant amount on the Vision Pro and it is failing. Apple is clearly dying.
Per
, gayMAN companies (save for Netflix because that is clearly not working out for them) have a lot of income streams. They can afford to throw shit against the wall and have it fail, just like they did 10-12 years ago. It's part of the process.
https://d18rn0p25nwr6d.cloudfront.net/CIK-0000320193/677a8b30-1fc2-4804-9b63-af17db7090a0.html
look at the balance sheet
apple has $30 billion in cash at the end of fy2023
up from $24 billion in fy2022
they could afford to lose a billion a year for 30 years and they'd still have a lot of assets and accts receivable to prop them up
apple is not finished. they may have gotten a black eye from the vision pro, but they're not in trouble, not even close
there's "too big to fail" in the meme sense, and then there's "too big to fail" in the apple sense (if they even get close to burning up all their cash, the board will have found someone competent to take over before it becomes a serious threat to the company)
>apple has $30 billion in cash at the end of fy2023
wow
>they could afford to lose a billion a year for 30 years and they'd still have a lot of assets and accts receivable to prop them up
as anons have stated, bigger corporations have lost everything within days or months. these numbers are no longer impressive to anyone but their shareholders who have bet the farm on apple stocks never falling to the floor.
>there's "too big to fail" in the meme sens
i'm sorry that you are a poorly educated Black person that was born yesterday and think globohomosexual corporations stay profitable forever by selling garbage in a flooded market with superior garbage. if they didn't have the iphone and their store apple would have closed down and sold itself to china decades ago. they're unable to justify the price of their shit anymore when chink competitors are literally wiping the floor with apple. and you know why? because apple, being the genius child sex offenders that they are, did a technology sharing agreement with chinese government. the chinks used apple's tech and manufacturing processes from foxconn and then told everyone to stop using apple's shit because they (and eventually other researchers) found a backdoor in their custom chips that bypassed memory protection.
The only countries who should be using US tech are American vassals who don't care if the NSA et al spy on their citizens and government. China was right to ban Apple shit.
>he doesn’t know w*men around the planet, even non-American ones, still have iPhones as status symbols and think chinkOS phones is what would gain dominance in phone marketshare
Alexa, pull up the android users to incel Chud correlation graph
>backdoor in their custom chips that bypassed memory protection.
What
Is apple hardware worse than Intel on that? Why is one banned in China but the other isn't?
BACKDOOR IN THEIR CUSTOM CHIPS THAT BYPASSED MEMORY PROTECTION
CAN'T YOU READ SMALL LETTERS?
>BYPASSED MEMORY PROTECTION
I don't understand what the means. Wtf is memory protection and I thought Intel was already backdoored.
>"too big to fail"
they've actually already failed before.
$30 billion is nothing nowadays
More phones with more animated emoji will get the woman's dollar.
They could get back into making routers again, NAS devices...all kinds of stuff they could get into especially with their "privacy" focus. There was no reason to try make a fricking car
>Steve
he's not your friend he's a dead psychopathic boomer he doesn't think about you at all
>A company that fails to innovate
meh
they can always just remove another feature and call it a brave innovation, or rip something off android and suck their own dick about it
Unless they spun it off into a subsidiary Apple should never have made a car anyway.
kek, talk to women. all they need to make bank is basic marketing and status bullshit. innovation isn't necessary to sustain a business anymore.
I legitimately forgot about the car thing. And now that third worlders all have an iphone, the novelty and status is wearing off.
For real, I wonder this year what completely irrelevant novelty they will try for the new iPhone to make it sell...
2030 iphone - ai something?
They already tried AI on their camera app and is atrocious.
I remember vividly a thread some month ago of someone comparing Samsung camera with Apple camera and the AI artifacts were extremely visible
yeah thank frick i can turn that shit off in my pixel or i just have my old vivo that also has the option to disable it
they'll start re-releasing iphones from the first gen
Apple is not about innovation. It is a fashion brand for women.
>Apple is a fashion brand for women.
oh right
hopefully the rounded corner display trend will die with it
Why doesn't Steve Jobs do something about this?
it’s almost like in this economy most normies don’t have 3,500 usd to burn on a vr headset with very little engaging apps.
Well 200k sold so far. Initial forecast was delusional to begin with given its price point.
Makes sense and people that do want a headset, will buy the Quest instead for significantly less.
Lol they're not even going to hit their new projection.
Are they just moronic or is it fraud/dereliction now?
>Are they just moronic or is it fraud/dereliction now?
all of the above. anons here said it would be a disaster on day one of launch and it's proven to be much worse than imagined. apple were blaming "manufacturing problems" for such low numbers being manufactured but we now know that's just bullshit.
I honestly can't believe they managed to sell over 100k of these things. It's actually very impressive.
>no youtube
>no netflix
>no games
>can't even view porn
I still don't really get what you were supposed to do with it
same as with the rest of their products. wear it in public to show others that you're an applel user.
Watch Disney+ which came installed on it by default (subscription not included)
use iMessage
Use apple music
Turns out gay VR porn isn't the huge, throbbing, vascular market they expected it to be.
Frick even their own content creation software is completely lacklustre and half abandoned.
>can't even view porn
that’s what I’m saying
you can watch porn on the Apple Vision.
It has the mac SOC and the osx kernel but can't run OSX apps "because."
About a quarter of Apple shareholders at least are just passive index fund investors and don't participate in governance whatsoever.
Just by the Lenovo glasses for porn they're totally hands free and dont cover your eyes all the way so you can look down at your benis or to the sides to make sure nobody is in the room with you other than your digital waifu
Their marketing campaign for these things still seems hilarious to me.
I am too mentally deficient to understand this article and thread, which are both obviously a joke
>there are 450k suckers out there that bought a paperweight you can't do anything with for 3500$
I get why israelites hate the gentiles now.
we wish
It's a $3500 VR Headset
They really expected to move a million???
How many people did they seriously expect to fork out $3500 for a VR/AR headset, when most people into VR don't give a rat's ass about AR capabilities and are just playing simhomosexualry or being degenerates on VRchat? Who the frick are they marketing to? How are they this delusional and out of touch?
I agree with your points but one time I punched a wall really hard during a boxing game on the quest 2. Passthrough would have prevented this
>be apple
>Make VR headset
>Don't give it any meaningful social features
>No VR chat, the most popular VR application ever
Gee I wonder why it failed
Ya know, Apple did convince me to open up my wallet... to companies that aren't them. This VR/AR stuff they're working on is genuinely cool to me, but it's clear Apple is crippling it with their business practices. Might get a rival headset or just one of those phone holder VR things and try this stuff out again.
I thought this was supposed to be for developers.
Lol Apple doesn't make anything for devs. They'd light the devs on fire if they could do it without killing their platform.
Fricking lol. Why do you think anyone would want to program for 8h a day with a big vision nerf device on their face?
Smaller but the more numbered fish can innovate with something new, the bigger companies like Apple couldn't keep up, and end up costing itself too much being across the board and complacent.
It's going to get worse and worse with Asian becoming a technology center.
>Use the face of a black woman to sell your product
>It fails
A tale as old as time.
they couldve used hitler it still sell like shit
is this fricking real
i had no idea this little gnome was so busty
they should have used a cute asian girl tbh
how the frick is that even """cute""" you low standards coomerBlack person
Works fine for other companies.
Other companies are actually selling to Black folk though.
at least shes kinda attractive big white wiener sucking lips nice bone structure complexion etc
Would betray my race for this choco b***h tbh
Ayyyo
built for mix race babies
They can have flops like this every month and they'd still have the cash reserves to get over it.
3500*425,000 = 1,487,500,000
Apple “dying” is still more money than the amount of money everyone in this thread and everyone known by everyone in this thread will make in their life combined.
R&D for the vision was probably tens of billions
plus your calculation doesn't take into account manufacturing costs for the vision pro
They should let it work on PC, where all the gamers live. But I think they would rather die then let customers have a choice like that.
it'll be worth so much in 20 years, just like the pippin
Apple have finally reached its limit at selling overpriced shit.
>They could even pop out from behind corners and do jumpscares
Recipe for another pokemon go disaster
Imagine the accidents
No they haven't, not even close. This whole thread is like a twitter zoomer meltdown
IQfy said this VR headset shit from Apple was years too late, too expensive, and had no useful programs
IQfy was right it's literally gayer than tim cook's asian design major boy toy
Don't they have any other model wearing this device? So tiring always seeing this same person.
Whats even more funny about Chess is that Apple used to have a decent 3D chess program, courtesy of NeXT
Wait they got rid of it without coding a replacement in Swift? Don't tell me they got rid of the graphing calculator program too...
chess is actually still there, and open-source
https://opensource.apple.com/source/Chess/
grapher is buried under utilities, but its still present
You can even run it on Linux in GNU Step.
>$5000
>For a fricking VR headshet
Gay Timmy lost his fricking mind and Steve Jobs is rolling in his grave to tear him a new butthole to frick him with.
iTODDLERS BTFO
bulli
do u think the straps get really gross and greasy quickly for black people
>Design some shitty VR visor specifically for the African American population which represents less than 12% of the US pop.
>Said population also has little to no purchasing power compared to the rest of the US pop
Hurr durr Why did 95% of our vision pro get stolen from our applel stores and only 5% get purchased before said 5% got returned for a refund?
It was a niche product for a niche audience at a vastly inflated price. Even the Meta Quest feels overpriced for what it is.
I can see certain use cases benefiting from a headset like device. Mostly work related stuff, where you would need a serious multiple monitor work flows etc. I cannot imagine a use case where I come home and strap that thing to my face so I can watch a movie. Its DOA as a general computing and media device.
i bought an oculus quest 2 and never opened it lol who cares? vr is a boomer meme literally.
what the frick is an octopus quest? some gay videogame?
>gay videogame
Yes, Timmy Apple plays it with me every night
good
I mean it looks ridiculous to be wearing that just for entertainment
Didn’t this only launch in US, not even North America as a whole? Did they really expect almost 1 million sales in the first year?
>Apple targets marketing for their $3000 hardware towards poor, tech illiterate American black women instead of the actual customers: rich white millennials and Asians.
>Units don't sell for shit
>Surprised Pikachu face 😮
>the official page for the product only features black people, mostly black women
Seriously what are they thinking
This hardware brings absolutely nothing to the table.
and most of the people who did buy one already see it as a novelty and have stopped using it.
It's still so fricking weird to me that they thought their customers would like this product.
Their whole brand is selling technology to people who hate technology by making it seem cool and fashionable. VR headsets make you look like a fricking dork.
>3500$ for a headset that can't do anything meaningful beaides meme web browsing
Geee I wonder why nobody cares about it
And don't forget, they shipped 200k units on launch.
>Apple is dying.
Gonna need confirmation from Netcraft, bruh.
apple will never die
Well me as a white pypo see no representation in their ads so clearly its not made for me
It's a product without an actual use case, not surprising that it's not selling.
https://github.com/alvr-org/alvr-visionos/wiki/Building
does this work? might be interesting to try
had a quest 2 hated the lcd have a quest 1 love the OLED mleds
Most people only make the mistake of buying VR garbage once in their lives. You are special...
had a samsuck odyshit plus as well
oleds good for porn tbqh and movies
VR is fun for developer dick around projects like making an ebook reader where you flip virtual pages. You haven't lived if you didn't make a coomer porn mag room in VR.
>strapping something heavy to your face
It's a stupid idea no matter what.
A 2kg VR headset
well duh.
they haven't made a good display since 2015.
the most important interface to any type of computer. so much for user experience.
if only steve jobs didn't die from ligma... what could have been...
Smartphones solved consumer electronics. There, I said it.
Ok. Tell me how to edit a text file and copy it to a remote computer over sftp without buying something from China.
Sorry, I should've said "the average consumer" and not "you".
The Average consumer is an illiterate moron who barely needs a computer for more than watching television.
I don't want a television, I've never cared for or wanted one, and I don't care about the television market.
Notice I didn't say "TV" because "TV" is a nickname, and nicknames are for friends, and television is no friend of mine.
I've noticed people tend to do this with vices: they shorten the names or use nicknames so it sounds less bad and they can lie to themselves more easily.
Yes it's most noticeable with pornographic content and various recreational drugs.
>The Average consumer is an illiterate moron who barely needs a computer for more than watching television
So like I said, smartphones solved consumer electronics. Everything else is just a solution looking for a problem. Smartwatches? Smart TVs? VR headsets? AI? All completely useless. There is unironically nothing left to invent, it's all just gradual improvements to existing things.
So true. If only there was a way to use your desktop level of performance resources remotely and lag free on your phone, phones will be perfect for everything but prevent eyestrain
I've speculated for years that before long a company will make a laptop that's just a weakly specced terminal which connects to a remote computer that's just a session in a datacenter. You'd be able to pay for instant hardware upgrades.
I think this was a prestige project for Apple
Trying to restore some of their reputation for building stuff before it is useful or affordable, like the Newton or Lisa
If I had the cash, I'd buy one. Maybe next time.
It's the most absurdly niche product Apple has ever made
code monkey
