Polygamous. Anyone who says monogamous is a low test homosexual who doesn't have enough resources or vitality to entertain multiple partners at once.

Are you two morons trying to say polyamorous? Polygamy is when one person has multiple monogamous wives.

It doesn't seem like they are trying to say polyamorous.

    Monogamous.

I think surveying all human societies its at least 70% monogamous. The remaining <30% is polygamy where one dude will have multiple wives. Then, a survey of all societies greatly over represents primitive societies. Across all the people who ever lived, a very large majority lived monogamous lives.

Reading about primitive societies, I do get the impression primitive people cheated on their spouses a lot. Even if they cheat, it is still in the context of a society where there are strong social norms not to cheat. I take it then that either their monogamous instincts had been evolving for less time and pressure, or primitive people just misbehaved more generally (or both!).

Being 6'0" isnt biologically encoded, but clearly height is biologically.

Like there is nothing that makes people exactly that height, and yet all the biological and genetic machinery is there to make human tissue grow.

Similarly, nothing behavioral is literally encoded, but our biology does make us feel, think, and react in certain ways, and for us our tendency to be monogamous is rooted in our biology

        Is culture rooted in biology?

Monogamy is fear based: I found one woman that will have my kids, I'm scared to leave her in case I can't find another that will take me.

I wonder what the statistics are like on single mothers, and men having children, getting divorced, and having more with another.

In ancient times it was likely more prevelent for community morale and balence and harmony for everyone to buddy system pair off, the exception being sultans with harems.

Few hundred years later and brothel and mistress culture was very prevelent.

Monogamy is often the most stable and successful form of child rearing however.

Bingo. Every male wants to spread seed unless he's a beta cuck. But there are not enough women for every male to have multiple wives. The momons tried and ended up exiling their young men after a few generations Marriage and religion are made up to keep you scared of fricking your neighbors wife.

It depends on environmental conditions. For example, professional American football players have more girls than boys. Some say it is because sweaty balls kill male sperm. This may be partially true, but more likely it is a the warrior class who has multiple women. And therefore in the conditions of dominance there will be more females born than males, and polygamy can take its natural roots

Humans are both polygamous and monogamous in a natural setting, hypergamy doesn't exist in such a setting

Humans are not strictly monogamous, but they tend towards having one partner at a time. It truly boggles the mind that both the biology and the raw, everyday evidence spells it out for you in big, bold letters yet there's so many of you mental cripples sharting out hot takes.
