Packard's not an "outsider artist", he gets what he's doing and there's theory in his films... stuff produced by outfits like W.A.V.E. Productions is more "outsider" in being just weird

In literature the literary smut of Ed Wood Jr. is close to that

Packard's unironically a germ theory denialist so... yikes

I’m wondering this too. I enjoy his aphoristic writing.

No. You need to have attended the proper institutions to get a look from a publisher.

I’m outsider philosopher myself. It’s impossible for people to take you seriously if you don’t entertain some form of egalitarian thinking so I just do a lot of stuff without references. I also think no one should be able to criticize me, because that’s israeli

All of the beats were outside the mainstream. Mostly because their work sucked.

    >In 1968, Darger became interested in tracing some of his frustrations back to his childhood and began writing The History of My Life. Spanning eight volumes, the book only spends 206 pages detailing Darger's early life before veering off into 4,672 pages of fiction about a powerful tornado called "Sweetie Pie", probably inspired by memories of a tornado he had witnessed in 1908.
