Everything is more expensive in America. It doesn't really compare.

not really, I went to New York and got 2 huge pizza slices for $1.99. it was too much I had to give one to a hobo.

things are actually cheaper in america.

go look at Tesla US website then UK website for example. we literally pay 2x more for the same shit

Dollar slices are slowly disappearing. You don't want to eat that shit anyway it's for broke teenagers and homeless people. A halfway decent plain slice of street pizza is gonna be between 3 and 4 bucks

Not as a general rule of thumb. I'm a bong living in the USA and even with Bidenomics, gas is way cheaper than the UK. Utilities are basically free compared to the UK. Food is cheaper too.
Also OP I hear you. I have a $50k job and after growing up in Britain, I feel (relatively speaking) wealthy now.
Basically if you are from the UK then you're NGMI unless you get the frick out of there. There is no opportunity there.
      >only work in my home town are min wags factory/warehouse jobs surrounded by Poles
      >unironically take about 6 months to save £1k

Absolute numbers mean nothing. Do you have everything you need (not everything you wish you had, there's a big difference)? Are you able to save at least 10% of your income? Then you should consider yourself financially successful.

Yeah the UK’s in a tough spot unfortunately, wage growth has been spectacularly bad for a long time but somehow the Anglo problem of ever increasing property values has been especially bad in the UK. If it’s any consolation mate I live in Australia and it’s similar here.

What do you do for work?

IT manager. I'm not actually very good at IT though. I'm probably lucky to have the job.

That explains a lot. I always found it strange how white collar jobs in the UK outside of City of London tier investment bankers seemingly make very little compared to blue collar wagies. You could pretty easily go and drive trains for 70k GBP/year. Don’t bricklayers make an absolute fortune there, like 60k GBP?

yeah but you guys have govt funded pensions, healthcare, etc.

Here, if you don't put away or invest your income when youre young, you will be forced to work until you die since social security only covers the bare necess.

no lol, we have pensions funded by young people, and when we're old, the government will be too bankrupt to pay for it, and the young people will be a bunch of Black folk who hate old white people. they'll probably just kill us

that's necessary in a diverse society, you need to pay your fair share towards the brown refugees on welfare.

Yes I know people who fricked about in school, didn't give a shit, deserve to have their heads caved in for things they have done, and are now earning mega money as plasterers and brickies and shit like that.
I kept my head down and did all the intellectual pursuits with uni and shit, now my take home pay is £2k a month.
    Bitter? Yes, extremely.

Kek. Get rekt. I played about in school and now own and operate a piece of machinery where I earn a little over £100k a year. This country is so fricking easy if you just do any kind of working class job.

After deductions I make just under £3k so that's about the same as you but then I live in the Norf where it's cheaper. However I also do side-work which brings it up to usually about £5k.

What are you guys doing that makes that much on the side?

I have thought a lot about being a wedding DJ on the side because that pays silly money considering all you have to do. The only thing stopping me is, as you say, the clientele. If something goes wrong on their special day it's all your fault.

American here, what's your guys take home pay after taxes and deductions? Just curious, mine is around $4k per month, though I do deduct 10% for a 401k plan. I will admit it's not a huge salary here, but I do live in the Midwest so the cost of living is low.

Black Americans actually live with an unimaginable level of wealth and luxury by world standards. I live in the suburbs of a city with one of the largest black populations in the US, they have sports cars and six figure trucks, take yearly vacations to tropical island bungalows, live in 4000 Square foot mansions, etc
