>Be the imperial core
>Literally control most of the world
>Be an absolute fricking shithole to live in, quality of life in England is pretty much literally worse on every metric than the rest of it's anglosphere resource extracted colonies. Have several of the poorest regions in Europe.

How did this happen? You would think with the amount of wealth extracted England would have roads of gold and sidewalks of polished marbel. But I've moved to England and it's honestly a fricking dump. Historically, did the English population itself really benefit all that much from the English empire? What happened to all the extracted wealth?

I’m hazarding a guard and saying that britain adapted and prepared poorly for the inevitable fact that they weren’t going to be able to coast by on plundering their colonies anymore. And boy have they fallen hard tbh, if england was a US state it’d be something like the second-poorest

Big one is Ireland. Northern Ireland is one of the poorest regions of Europe, like Albania tier, while Ireland proper now is one of the richest countries in Europe.

This is because Southern Ireland is a tax haven and this completely warps any statistics about their economy because all it's showing you is how much money American multinationals are swapping between each other, regularly Irish people see absolutely none of that money.

Believe me, friend, the only people I blame are the Irish government. You would not believe how much I seethe at these c**ts everyday.

aren't they defacto a shitlib state thanks to Sinn Fein's cucked policies?

            Anonymous

Sinn Fein has never been a ruling government in the ROI.
Sinn Fein are mega cucks but they're mainly NI's problem, the problem in Dublin is Fianna Fail and Fine Gael. Two utterly identical parties that are just as cucked as Sinn Fein. Given these options there is no political solution to the state of affairs in Ireland.

It's not just NI though, take out the City of London and the rest of Britain is pretty much Eastern Europe, maybe Portugal tier

Like the US they got rid of most of their industrial sector in favor of a service based economy. Unfortunately places like the US exist and do the same thing but better. The UK is a shithole because they don't produce anything anymore, at least...not anything that first world countries want. Pic related, they trade more with China and India than the US. How sad is that?

      >plunder
Has really nothing to do with it. 'Resource extraction' is hugely exaggerated in discussing colonial powers, the salient point was always to have the colonies to then buy the finished products. Just look at France, they're chugging away just fine because they still have tremendous financial ties with their former African colonies AND didn't fall for the service economy meme.

        it's the case of
        >why we need to pay our unionized worker for 1000£/ton of steel while we can buy chinese one for 200£

and yup, service industry is a meme to create meaningless job

        Generally wrong post.
Per OEC, in 2020 6% of French exports and 4% of French imports came from the African continent.
        >they don't produce anything anymore
They have hundreds of billions in product exports.
        >didn't fall for the service economy meme
It's a secular phenomenon, ultimately no different than agricultural employment plummeting.

It's funny how leftists call everything from race to gender a "social construct", but they never consider that the concept of "wealth" is literally a social construct. Was "wealth" really extracted from the jungles of South America? Or the human feces filled waters of India? Or the deserts of Africa?

Lol the problem isn't the resources, but control over them, which continues into modernization. So in that sense absolutely. It's funny you'd use India as an example because Euros have always considered it an extremely wealthy nation.

One of the negative aspects of colonialism is that if mishandled it essentially skips over certain forms of societal development, cultures do not adapt properly to new things and it takes a long time for this to be alleviated. Schweitzer commented on this. But that alleviation will be further curtailed with exploitative practices concerning what runs more advanced societies: natural and precious resources. That continues today.

When it comes to Africa in particular, it's not like all parts of Africa functioned the same when it came to resources. Many of the Africans they met were fully capable and aware of the concepts of their bargains. They learned fluent English and so on. They definitely had their "wealth" fricked with, because they had already became functioning merchants far before the slave trade.

not actually true, women will monkey branch regardless of how much the welfare state pays. the best thing is not to control the GDP but going after prostitutedom wholesale. there is very little correlation between political economy and the genetic fitness of a nation's people.

There is in The Bell Curve and Richard Lynn's Dysgenics. Murray also did a follow up paper in the 90's. Women on welfare have higher birthrates and lower IQs.

That's fine but why is hypergamy never addressed in these discussions? If that's the case don't you think these women would choose someone who would be able to not only support them and even work in high level fields, so that it even things out or does female brains not work that way?

Modern day people have this moronic idea that imperialism is when you transfer wealth from third worlders to first worlders.
That's beyond moronic, in reality imperialism is just an extension of the system they already had at home where they'd extract wealth from workers to aristocrats and bourgeoisie. The very first people the British empire enchained were the English.

You should look up the Rothschild's palace. The wealth wasn't accumulated by the state, it was amassed by the bankers. And with them is where it remains to this day.

The English have been following disastrous policies both economic and political for almost a century now.

It is only going to get worse.

    >The analysis – based on International Monetary Fund (IMF) data – shows the wealth per capita for every year of the 21st century. It places Luxembourg at the top of the list with the highest GDP per capita, with over £80,000 per person, and the UK at the very bottom, with £31,038.
