I think 8 is a joke, but the right mix of too old android for adaptive icons + nova launcher custom shapes + pixel triangle in circle could've done the same thing.

Kind of funny that in the race to conform to inclusivity and diversity, these redesigned icons are probably harder for disabled people to read.
