Your picture doesn't explain why atheism is wrong, just that it leads to a poor society.

Atheism is reality and reality is bleak.
For the sake of a good society you can keep everyone believing the comforting lie of religion, or you can choose to live in reality and accept the consequences of that.

      >Atheism is reality
Maybe to you it is. You can't prove rationally one way or the other if God is real since God is supra-rational.

The proof is that it is indisputably irrational to deny the existence of God. To concede the existence of God is literally the only way of maintaining rationality.

Why do you think atheism is reality? On what basis do you assert that no god exists?

The Bible teaches that we are in a fallen world , that we are in a fallen state, and that life is suffering. It’s not a big fricking theme park like atheists like to believe. Religion isn’t a cope , atheism is.

You just described that The Bible is cope, as it's providing the idea that there is somewhere a better world (heaven) instead of our current (suffering) one. So basically a cope that there is a better world

Christians must stay wary of sinning, day in and day out, 24/7, 365 days a year for the rest of our lives. We can't frick whoever we want, smoke, get tattoos, do whatever you moronic materialists do without risking eternal damnation. I'm pointing out that the original poster seems to think that Christian life is some easy way out of life, some kind of cope, when in reality atheism is the true cope. We have duties and responsibilities, we can't just sit at home watching Rick and Morty, you homosexual.

Christianity imposes on it's believers a set of rules and guidelines that are simply unachievable for a human, a person will always in some way sin. Now, that builds up a sense of guilt, with which you have to go to repent in some way be that going to priest for salvation or prayer.

And so christians go smoking, getting tattoos(like cross is one of the most popular tattoos), fricking people, because they have always a foundation to fall back on, so they can do that stuff, because the guilt that builds up in them can be released while repenting. Atheism simply doesn't have something to fall back on in case of feelings guilt.

Also feeling of guilt is not based on some kind of moral principle, but on psychology of humans.

You can enjoy doing materialistic stuff precisely, because you have metaphysics to fall back on in case of guilt for enjoying the materialistic stuff. And let's be real are christians really so godfearing and repentfull? Some of them are sure, but most of them are not. So for the majority the shield of seeking salvation by going to priest and praying is simply a cope.

            Anonymous

            just to add on
You are facing consequences, but replacing the real consequences with fake ones, that can be easly dismissed by prayer, going to priest and so on, and that's a cope

            Anonymous

I completely agree that most Christians are not really god fearing, but that doesn't invalidate the teachings of the religion itself. What you are describing is not repentance, it's guilt or remorse.

Repentance in the Greek/Hebrew is a 'change of mind', or to 'change one's purpose', change of heart.

Genuine repentance involves a real desire and commitment to not repeat the sin and, thus, will lead to a person putting accountability measures in place in a concerted effort to conquer the ungodly behavior.

It's just a statistical anomaly that Muslims, israelites, and Christians are overwhelmingly not gay or trans, right? And the gays and trannies are overwhelmingly nonreligious, that's just another statistical anomaly?

        Anonymous

Because those religions are hostile to gays, trans and the like

Most of the gay people are not atheists, because there is some natural predisposition in atheism towards what? being gay?

In many religions and communities being gay is considered a sin, something wrong, so of course those people are gonna seek closure in communities that are not hostile to them.

So gay people are not gay because they are atheists they are atheists because they are gay. You are simply confusing cause with effect.

well when your religion executes or otherwise persecuted you throughout history, then yeah it led to closeted homosexuality in these cultures. Why is that so hard to understand? Do you think there's just magically no biological gay people in Muslim countries, or are you intentionally being moronic

After Virtue by Alisdair McIntyre. If he had folded the mandates of industrialization into that book, it would be perfect. Instead, he blames everything on enlightenment liberalism and the abandonment of classical virtue. Maybe it did, but industrialization did far more damage and that seems to me undeniable.

The best book for that purpose would be a book that actually crushes the atheism of those who read it, which is pic related since it is known to convince even hardened skeptics that there is an afterlife and that we are eternal and will go to heaven unconditionally when we die. And many other NDE books are convincing as well. As one NDE researcher said that he does not know anyone who has read the literature on NDEs who has not been convinced by it.

And NDEs are more real than life. One way this manifests is how much more immersed NDErs are with that reality and with the beings they meet there. As one NDEr remarked:

    >"To my surprise, and also distress, they seemed to be capable of knowing everything I was thinking. I didn't know whether I would be capable of controlling my thoughts and keeping anything secret. We began to engage in thought exchange, conversation that was very natural, very easy and casual. I heard their voices clearly and individually. They each had a distinct personality with a voice, but they spoke directly to my mind, not my ears. Everything I thought, they knew. They all seemed to know and understand me very well and to be completely familiar with my thoughts and my past. I didn't feel any desire to ask for someone I had known because they all knew me. Nobody could know me any better. Their love was tangible. You could feel it on your body, you could feel it inside you; their love went right through you. I wish I could explain it to you, but I can't."

    From here: https://youtu.be/U00ibBGZp7o

And the NDE convinces everyone who has it, even hardcore skeptics, according to this: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/mysteries-consciousness/202204/does-afterlife-obviously-exist

So this argument is literally airtight, irrefutable proof of an afterlife, because we know now that the NDE will convince anyone. So it would convince you too, and the most skeptical person you know, no matter how skeptical you are of NDEs now, or why. NDErs were just as skeptical as you, and for the same reasons. And their NDEs still convinced them.

How do monotheists cope with the fact that they're atheistic 99.999% of the time, and how the word atheism was first used to describe christians who didn't take part in the religious practices of the Roman empire? Basically they were the fedora tippers of Rome who didn't go to temple on sunday.

Ah yes, the ol "I just believe in one less God than you do". Please explain to me how this invalidates Christianity? If someone is murdered in a village with a population of 4000, since the odds of me finding the murderer are really low, does it therefore follow that there is NO murderer? Try harder materialist. Sad!
