Depending on your month of birth you ar at a different end of your cohort. Like nowadays you are older or younger or average age in your class. Also your parents conceived you a t a different time: think new years baby vs valentines day baby. Finally depending on the season of birth, the world you are born into, or come to your senses in is very different: hot outside vs cold outside, rainy etc...

..Nowadays the weather thing isn't hard set. But for 2 million years, protohumans lived basically in the same climate.
The cohort thing wasn't classes but like how old are you when the first hunt of the year happens or the big annual ritual or whatever And the time of conception idk i think that was similar... so...

..Humans have like 12 potential modes, the 12 signs, which correspond to optimal behaviors for a given age within your cohort and parental/family dynamic. If you are one of the bigger ones, your optimal strategies are different than if you are one of the smallest. If your parents love each other over time, different optimal strategy than if they just had a fling after prehistory prom. So anyway, the weather and maybe other stuff when you were born triggered the activation of the genes corresponding to your optimal strategy.

...And this was happening for literally 100's of years, and we also evolved to recognize which type a person was, to know what to expect, how best to interact with them what they are likely to do etc.
Since we left the great lakes, the triggers are unreliable, many people come aware in a completely un savanna like weather, and are technically not actually their (or any) sign. But our capacity to recognize people of a sign has not disappeared in a mere 60000 years. So most people are actually not a sign, but when we meet someone who by some chance actually had their mode triggered then we may very well instantly recognize it.

So yeah, its not as reliable as it once was, but there is actually a correlation between birthday and personality.

      >as it once was
You mean, people are not as moronic as they once were?
Look, if the correlation was seasonal and gradual, I would be inclined to believe some of it. I would believe that the first impression makes a difference. Being stuffed in thick clothes, being inside most of the time because you were born in autumn or winter, compared to being outside, lightly clothed, exposed to a lot of sunlight, could make a difference. But saying that you have four main types with three subtypes, and every season has a little bit of everything, is just dumb. Neighbouring months should have the highest similarity, not the highest disparity, as predicted by superstition. If you are born in December or January makes little difference with the sunlight you are exposed to. But no, two adjacent zodiac signs are always as different as possible -> bullshit
