Absolute fricking state of this board.

stop making mozilla look based. they're basically owned by google and are just an extension of their monopoly over the web. corruption and spying from colonial powers run deep and i couldn't care less about your burning desire to shout "Black person homosexual" like a mindless parrot
mosaic/split page view and vertical tabs
customization, usability and stability
noticeably faster
plenty of addons already built in
no moronic version numbers
politically neutral
still have to add ublock origin and some other specific shit you might want/need
but in general it is a fast browser although i did have some issues a while ago but i fixed so yay for that.
troony fox can go frick itself, they would have more people if they weren't so political.
it just doesn't sit right with me a company taking a stance on conflict...weird.
For me it's the built in mail and calendar. Feed reader is really basic and only useful if you don't have a lot of feeds. Also, Vivaldi is super customizable without having to modify files.
Switching to Vivaldi from Firefox could be a great choice if you’re looking for a browser that offers extensive customization options and powerful built-in features. Here are some reasons why you might consider making the switch:
>Customization: Vivaldi is known for its high level of customization. You can tweak and adjust nearly every aspect of the browser to fit your personal preferences.
>Privacy and Security: Vivaldi has a strong focus on privacy, with features like built-in ad blockers and tracker blockers to keep your browsing secure and less cluttered.
>Productivity Tools: It comes with a range of tools to boost your productivity, including note-taking features, image properties, and a customizable sidebar for quick access to your most-used sites.
>Performance: Vivaldi is designed with smart resource management, which can lead to a faster and more efficient browsing experience.
>Tab Management: If you often find yourself with too many open tabs, Vivaldi’s tab stacking and tiling features can help you organize and navigate them more easily.
>Built-in Features: Vivaldi reduces the need for third-party extensions by including a variety of built-in features such as a mail client, calendar, and RSS feed reader.
While Firefox is a great browser with a focus on privacy and speed, Vivaldi’s unique set of features and customization options make it a compelling alternative, especially if you’re looking to tailor your web browsing experience to your exact needs. Give it a try and see if it suits your browsing style!
>customization
Can't even combine the address bar and tab bar. Absolute trash.

Firefox still has no split screen. Bookmark management is still ass as well. And there's no extension to fix either.
(I'm still sticking with Firefox though)

So right now in Firefox I have like 5 windows on my second screen next to each other made very thin (pic related) and an addon that refreshes them every 30 seconds that I glance at occasionally. I'm doing this to refresh apartment postings.
Is it possible to do this in Vivaldi in a single window? I've heard of some grid tab tiling thing but I dunno if it would help with that.
My employer forces us to use Edge, and it recent implemented some kind of tab tiling feature. I'm not sure if it can do exactly what you are describing but it might be worth a look.
vivaldi also has the periodic refresh if you right click the tab, but only saw from 1 minute, is that why you use an addon cause you need it at 30 seconds ?
is there no way to customize those times ?
Afaik not for 30 seconds the minimun is 1 minute, then you can set whatever you want from quick commands (f2) ie. to reload every 2m 30s write periodic reload 160
I'm in a bit of a predicament
I've been using firefox for years, with my custom css and all, not having that many problems other than it being somewhat slow sometimes. It still has better font rendering on Windows on 1080p, and vertical tabs through TST work pretty goddamn well. And ublock origin just fricking works.
However now I have this laptop I'm going to be using both for work and personal shit, but more normalgayged, so I'm not about to use my firefox profile/account on that shit. And I noticed that indeed blurrium browsers are a bit faster and on hDPI (2880x1800) fonts don't look that bad. But the implementation of vertical tabs on these browsers seems to be shite and I'm not sure about adblocking.
If only edge wasn't ridden with microsoft spyware and AI bullshit nobody needs
I find that it tries to do vertical tabs but it doesn't have the option to scroll through them.
Basically there are no reasons as you can do everything on firefox. Of all the chrome forks I like vivaldi the most, but like all chrome forks, they don't need to exist at all
>looking for a new browser >ask coworker if their browser is Firefox or Chrome >she doesn't understand >pull out illustrated diagram explaining what is Firefox and what is Chrome >she laughs and says "It's a good browser, anon" >Install browser >it's Chrome
vivaldi has features, like good ones. I don't know all of them uts hard to keep up. some call it "bloat" for some reason. it's also chromium which actually works on the internet
only problem i have is the history is lagging and bugging after it's gotten big (been using vivadi since 2016)
Years ago I tried Vivaldi and it was fairly sluggish, and custom css was pretty broken on it. It was still the most usable version of chromium, given the current alternatives, but it was still not great and I couldn't just make the switch from firefox.
On firefox I've been using this custom userchrome for years with minor changes (because pozilla keeps fricking up some stuff, granted) with TST, where I hover over a thin bar showing favicons with no unnecessary padding and it shows me the labels, sort of what Edge does, but faster. I use 2 addons for scrolling through tabs with the mousewheel and colored tabs (which I'll be honest, I think I can do away with).
What concerns me the most about chromium based web browsers, above this customization shit, is adblocking. I don't want to get cucked on that front and so far I only have trouble with sites like twitch. Even youtube still shows me no ads.
Vivaldi has a built-in email client. That alone makes it better than Firefox. Firefox is no longer capable of having an integrated email client since they killed XUL.
no
these
firefox is the best browser, moron

Sounds like Brave
Brave is a good browser but it is just a barebones Vivaldi at the end of the day
I thought it was more bloated than Viva with all its crypto shit

Pretty sure I made that years ago, not sure if using setting or css mods, as I'm now using tabs on side that autocollapse to favicon when not hover.
Css mods are great cause instead of a huge userchrome you select a folder and all css files in that folder will be loaded.

looks bloated

Don’t
>Why yes, I do use Mozilla Firefox. How did you know?
actually it's just because of this
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/sidebery/
All that is possible in Vivaldi natively, without extra addons. In fact its sidebar can do a lot more than that.
Actually no, it can't. I've already tried Vivaldi's vertical tabs and they really pale in comparison.

is this a troll post anon? or do they're really just boosting user count with bots now and that's why they removed the ip counter?
I didn't switch when brave's marketing department was bombarding IQfy with their bloated shit.
I won't change now either.
Firefox is the superior browser and you all bigoted pieces of shit can suck it.
Does Vivaldi have containers?
So right now in Firefox I have like 5 windows on my second screen next to each other made very thin (pic related) and an addon that refreshes them every 30 seconds that I glance at occasionally. I'm doing this to refresh apartment postings.

https://help.vivaldi.com/desktop/tabs/tab-tiling/
Can you get a notification / sound if something in the tabs changed there tho?

>convince me to use bloated dogshit
have a nice day homie
>Wowee look at me I'm bugtesting Troonzilla's code for free, I'm so enlightened!!1
Congrats, you're worse than Bravegays.
Never used vivaldi so I can't compare.
What about FF has you on z fence?
You would be crazy to do such a thing. Mozilla is pozzed, but Firefox is still better than anything else right now.
I'm in a bit of a predicament

What do?
Just keep using firefox?
Vivaldi has the best vertical tabs out of all chromiumshit so give it a try.
Vivaldi is proprietary spyware.
If only edge wasn't ridden with microsoft spyware and AI bullshit nobody needs
I find that it tries to do vertical tabs but it doesn't have the option to scroll through them.

Your options are Firefox or chrome. Anything claiming to be different is a fork.

Since I have my tv hooked up to my puter to watch porn and furry movies. What's the best secondary browser to use for my addiction?
>Secondary browser for degenerate porn habit
Firefox
>Main browser
Firefox Nightly
Does vivaldi have umatrix? If so it's superior already. I dunno why it died on firefox.
>I dunno why it died on firefox
Because it's obsolete.
It's not obsolete, ublock doesn't offer the same level of control, it's like a toy version.
vivaldi has features, like good ones. I don't know all of them uts hard to keep up. some call it "bloat" for some reason. it's also chromium which actually works on the internet

just use chrome
stop making your life difficult
Tabstacks, workspaces and customizable ui. Also not pushing browns and wanting you yo cut your dick off.
no, I don't give a shit what you use
Years ago I tried Vivaldi and it was fairly sluggish, and custom css was pretty broken on it. It was still the most usable version of chromium, given the current alternatives, but it was still not great and I couldn't just make the switch from firefox.

>Vivaldi
Lol. That shit is dead
I would expect Brave to die before Vivaldi does, the developers are really active adding copious amounts of bloat to it.
But why? I don't care if you live or die.
Vivaldi has a built-in email client. That alone makes it better than Firefox. Firefox is no longer capable of having an integrated email client since they killed XUL.
I can't understand why anyone ever fricking asked for this shit feature, like just make a bookmark to your email inbox homie???
>just plug your email creds into a proprietary codebase
Congratulations, you just described 99.9% of email providers.
I see you missed the point entirely
I see you did.
>no u
Sure, Whatever
>Vivaldi has a built-in email client
One more reason to stick to Firefox.
