True but the punishments are way more horrifying. Depending on interpretation, hell is either eternal separation from God or being eternally in God's presence where his love is a metaphorical flame. This is eternal, yes, but Buddhist hell is an actual realm, not just a state that your soul can be in, and it includes things like being run through with spikes, being cut into little pieces and rearranged in different ways, having molten lava poured down your throat, etc.
That's what most Christians think Hell is like because few of them know how gay and stupid their theology actually is.

Every depiction of hell is just physical things we as humans can fathom. Red hot pokers, burned alive, et cetera, et cetera, if hell DID exist it wouldn't be based on things we can imagine and replicate in a mortal realm, i.e: physical pain based on nerve endings, it'd be more like psychological torture, something like dementia is the closest we can probably get on Earth, but it'd be thousands of times worse.
