it's just "I love new thing" moron

People are naturally curious/open minded/happy to see something interesting. When they get older, their hearts harden such that they can no longer enjoy life, enjoy anything. So they spend their time/energy crying about others enjoying things in life that they know they can never enjoy anymore.

The fix isn't to cry about others, its to fix your attitude through understanding of how your mind, our minds, work. Unwrangle the cold heart and open yourself to the interesting/cool/awesome new thing. Reignite your curiosity. The 12 year old you would have been excited about everything in life. The current closed and jaded you are not in any moral superior position, but rather you're at the bottom of the ladder having fallen so low that you cant see anyone else below you

70% of it is blissful ignorance. 30% of it is the fact that most tech workers only got into the industry because it pays well.

When you get older, you understand the implications behind things you use to simply enjoy.

Little girls LOVE barbie! But.. even you realize that barbie was the result of a focus group that determined that girls would like dolls that encapsulated things that society told them wanted to be and internalized it so much that your daughter now wants to play not with a baby doll but a doll of a beautiful blonde with big breasts because even her child mind knows that is what people want from her and expect her to be and she wants people to like her.

Kinda hard to feel joy is it?

I assume the people you're talking about that love technology are "enthusiasts" like linus tech tips, which all the smart shit in their house but without any idea how it actually works
people that work in tech sometimes hate technology because they already fix it all day for their job, so when they come home they dont want to be fixing another thing
either that or they like the idea of tech like smart lights but don't like that with the current state it needs to ping a chinese server to turn the light on when both of them are on the same home network

AI doomers are those who have the communist ideology in mind where they believe all economy is zero sum and thus our lives, our society has not changed at all since the stone age. These people fundamentally believe others shouldn't get ahead in life because they aren't ahead in life.

The industry would prefer to ship planned obsolescence malware/spyware/adware vectors catering to the lowest common denominator through heavy abstraction that removes control of the device from the user.
The most common tech is a handheld device that forces you to constantly be in reach of people who want to pester you and which deliberately manipulates human psychology in incredibly negative ways to earn money.
All of the fun tech has been phased out or made far more expensive because the supply chains were dissolved and know-how lost, simply because they weren't easy to store in warehouses or bury in landfills when people failed to buy it.

AI still can't balance out what was lost to advertising.

it's shareholders that have the influence, the normies just go along with it

Shareholders are normies. They have actually gotten worse over time as their access to communication technology and easy dopamine has grown, shareholders aren't even human anymore, just bags of skin stretched over a vast lake of FOMO.

      >The same thing is going to happen here again
ehh why would it when phones already exist? you're right that the first handheld PC revolution was thwarted by phones though, but this time it's different.

It's never different. The planned obsolescence cycle will repeat.

moronic thread. That said I have a similar rant.

I find that the biggest issue is that people give things for granted. When there's a cool new technology people get excited , then it's called shit a year after because "we" find it obsolete by then.

And to go in a a bit of a tangent, this also exactly the biggest cause of depression world wide. Mankind's expectations will never match reality. Two generations ago most people wouldn't know what's to travel to another continent, what's to sleep under air conditioning, hell to be able to eat whatever type of food that you want at the click of a button would have been a wild concept. These things are not enough for us now, we need more because we know there's more or because we get bored about what we have.

There is actually a biological reason for our ambition that's quite self evident, but I won't digress too much. To answer the threads query, it's just expectations and experiences. People familiar to a technology will want more faster than someone new to it, ovbiously.

      >People familiar to a technology will want more faster than someone new to it, ovbiously.
Sure, but the phenomena OP is talking about is experienced people looking down on new/naive people who are enthusiastic about something new that they themselves are "experienced" about.

Its like as if doctors were constantly b***hing and moaning about new patients who find the work the doctors do amazing/cool/etc. The attitude doesn't come from actual experience, it comes form arrogance that is only present in those who have no real experience and have not been humbled by reality.

    >Tech noe how people hate tech
We don't hate tech, we hate how tech illiterates have massive influence over the technologies that manufacturers make for us.
The illiterates choose stupid shit for the manufacturers to prioritize and get exploited because of their illiteracy. So now we live in a world with 2000$ iPhones that are 7 years behind android devices and Android devices that had the right features that they are now planning on removing. We have laptops with fricking soldered shit stuffed inside them, permanent handicapping them and their users.
Cars are gay as frick now.
Monitors, tablets and televisions are thin as cardboard due to massively funded research yet they suck ass to look at because who the frick wants a fat device with real life resolution when you can have a 720 interlaced flat screen with a couple of shitty chink led strips glued to the inside that fail after 160 hours of use?
Frick this gay future and its SaaS lite versions of software or "apps" as the raging wiener guzzlers call them.
The "you vill ve fappy with no possessions" bullshit is real because nobody is going to want any of this shitty tech in the future and all of the limp wristed s.oy hipster types would've stripped the good ancient tech and stuffed it with some gay ass Arm pi so they can run their same old bing bing wahoo homosexual plumber games.

The shareholders may have the influence to force cost cutting prioritization, however the consumers ultimately have the power to simply NOT buy the product. But they go along with it because they're tech illiterate and moronic.

It's like being a mechanic, Anon, at fist you think it's fun to work on cars if you are a carguy. Then you burnout servicing
thousands of them for imbeciles and the pay is shit because it's not hourly, or at a piece rate that makes profit impossible, or you have to pay for tests/yearly (re)certifications and tools you have to pay for to do the repairs. Manufacturers make them more proprietary which means you need more tools, or have to come up with workarounds when gatekeeping makes deeper troubleshooting impossible. With computers and networking the problem is everyone wants to hamfist cloud into their product which makes it a stability and security risk.

      >Handheld PCs
We were already there a long ass time ago. But normies demanded a mobile device with a camera attached to it and that the majority of the R&D go into the camera not the rest of the device.
The same thing is going to happen here again when the normies get a hold of hand held PCs and demand that cameras be attached to them and they the OS be dumbed down for "ease of use". Then guess what, the manufacturers will comply and handhelds will turn into foldable camera phones all over again only this time they will have actual PC chips in them that are handicapped by the gay ass toy OS they'll package with it

Ask the normies. They're the ones that chase their tails for "new" stuff that we've already had for a long time.
How do you think vidya consoles happened? We all know that gaming on desktops was not only available, but it was the Patricians choice. Then everyone got all moronic over Nintendo which evolved back into PCs that turned back into Nintendo with the Nintendo switch. Now everyone is moving back to PCs with the RoG Ally and other devices which will then be "too complicated" for the normies so they'll just put some Android tier OS into it and give them SaaS lite mobile Gaming again

What are you angry about? Break it down, work through each trigger point that's bothering you and conclude that you're being foolish to worry about such things when we have an imminent global war, crop failures due to global warming causing famine and the collapse of the world banking system in the next year or so.

That's basically what OP is complaining about. We could literally be colonizing space if it weren't for the tech illiterate types holding us back.

The magic goes away as you discover how something works, and add it to your skillset.
When I was a teenager, programming fascinated me so I learned it. By my early 20s, it stopped being fun.
When I was in my early 20s, hardware design fascinated me so I learned it and got a job programming and designing hardware (embedded systems engineer). By my late 20s, it stopped being fun too.
Now I am in my late 20s, mechanical design seems fascinating to me so I am learning it.

It's because people who actually know "tech" do "tech" for work, and there's no faster way to kill your interests than making it your job in corporate america. Corporate america is so full of stupid moronic bullshit, that it's where every interest goes to die.

I picked up cooking during the coof, and my aunt noticed and tells me I should be a chef. I told her there's no way i'd ever be a professional chef, as that would kill my passion for cooking. I like cooking for me, not for other people (who aren't friends or family). She thinks it's nuts, but then she's in her 70s, and has only ever worked her various piddly small businesses that my uncle keeps afloat to keep her busy.

The people who are behind the scenes tho know all the vulnerabilities, spying and general scummy behaviour done by tech corps to not just make profit but to hold literal power over the users' lives.

The more you delve into a particular part of society, the more you realize just how rotten and shit it all is behind the veneer of normality.

Like cutting open a pretty girl and seeing that it's just blood and shit and slime and guts and fat inside. Much better if it stays packaged.

This reminds me of my experience with drawing many, many years ago. If you've never drawn before, it seems like magic to get pretty shades and wild perspectives, etc, etc, but no one sees the perspective lines, vanishing points, etc. Once you get to that point, the magic definitely fades.

This but at least the art piece doesn't try to sell your information to some ccp satellite for quick money.

Almost all modern propritary software, anything SAAS, online platforms and AI are just ways to extract your livelihood to give more power to corporations which use the state to control you.

Technology stopped being about making better stuff a long time ago, now it's just about power.
