I mean, there's only going to be like a half to one pound of copper in a single PSU, and getting all the insulation off of it just isn't worth the hassle (and you can just burn it of like with normal wires as PSU inulation tends to be fireproof)
I mean, nothing's stopping you, but if it works you might as well sell it, and if it doesn't, the RESPONSIBLE thing to do it drop it off at an electronics recycling center or event.

Even if you recylce it they spend fuel taking it to asia just to dump it in a river and send it to the ocean. A landfill is better.
