What IQ test did you take and at what age?

      Anonymous

I've never finished a test because I get too nervous and close the tab. I assume I'm low IQ because I'm a high school dropout and struggle to learn new things.

Give me a specific example of a thing you struggled to learn. Do not say something general like "maths". A specific concept that others learn in less than a day.

How to answer questions like this

that doesn't mean you have a low iq. you could be autistic or schizoid

Should have taken a personality quiz, would have been about as helpful.

Well I wouldn't base what I can or cannot do on a number with little to no significants, so go ahead be a programmer better yet you can learn computer science!

Anon here's a piece of advice that a good friend of mine has shared with me. If you are stressed during a test you are gonna do like shit, so there is no point in worrying because by being anxious during it you are ruining all your preparation for it.

I guess at some point, it harms more than it helps to know your IQ. Literally just try as hard as you can, dont give up. You'll probably never outpace a 100 IQ normie who's trying just as if not harder than you, but most arent trying that hard either, so you have a reasonable shot at a comfy enough future

  5. 2 weeks ago

maybe? Just try it. You can probably do stuff like frontend development

Effort beats IQ almost every time. Most "high IQ" people haven't achieved shit. That said, I don't encourage people to get into this field because it's already well overcrowded.

This. Mensa is full of moronic homosexuals that thinks they're le heckin smarterino because they beat the ebin spot the pattern quizzes without knowing that they're a deadweight to society.

Those who do are actually better than these theory ass mfs

Anon, intelligence is useful because it makes you find a solution faster, but do not confuse it with problem solving.
I agree with the most primitive PS method is trial-and-error, if darwinian evolution built sophisticated strategies and complex systems by shitting a million organisms every day for years, why shouldn't you with a brain?

The problem is you will be slow, you also need to diversify solutions to not end up running in loop trying the same stuff over and over again. Still, you'll get faster thanks to experience, but new problems will always be challenging.

This. I have an IQ of 6 gorillion and I don't do shit with it. What's the point when you can do everything? Just to show off? There's no one I need to impress since I sit at the top. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't lonely at the top. Perhaps I'll try my hand at constructing a tulpa and giving it it's own volition/sentience.

what you want to program? trial and error method is not efficient and you are not going to make it trough higher education, you have lot of options if you talk and trust people

      >higher education
everything humanity has ever accomplished is easy to understand, even the dumbest human can do it because that is just how strong our brains are. The result of an IQ test is 100% caused by your attention span and how hydrated you are.
If a human ever fails at something it is because they didnt have the will to acquire the needed knowledge or they were born with an illness and died before accomplishing what they set out to.

      inb4 "brainlet"
you are a fricking moron who spends all evening browsing IQfy and not learning or doing a single thing, get the frick out, your kind should roaming be out and about, enjoying the work made by actual spawns of God like me, that is if you are not some fricking gde, in which case go rid the earth of your presence already.

        >Lower IQ doesn't mean you can't be good at programming
No, it means precisely that. It doesn't matter how hard you try, if you lack the mental capacity you lack the mental capacity.

think of IQ as how fast you process information. You have lower reaction times, recognize patterns slower, find it harder/ take longer to grasp purely abstract concepts, etc.

you can overcome it with hard work, but only if the smarter folks are lazier than you (making you thus less valuable overall)

        >even the dumbest human can do it because that is just how strong our brains are.
this is objectively false. You'd be amazed at the moronation found in humans with bad genes

why not? it's not very demanding inteligence-wise in many scenarios. besides who says you need to be good? plenty of shitty programmers out there doing just fine.

Depends on the language, Python you could be comfortable with at any IQ above 85.

Lower IQ doesn't mean you can't be good at programming, it just means it will take more time and effort than someone with a higher IQ. It won't come to you naturally, and you may feel like you don't understand things as quickly as instructors expect you to, but it can be done if you are dedicated enough.

Being able to post on IQfy in English is functionally more literate than most people in America and in the real world that means you have a higher than average IQ (over 100) and it's especially true if it's not a trash post.

IQ is a meme, programming is mostly abstract and lateral thinking which is not really tested on an IQ test. Just try it and see if you got natural talent for it.

Anyone can program and program well. Most of programming well is experience (if you're not developing new algorithms or something like that). What matters most is that you create value. Even very good programmers tend to not use programming as a tool that makes valuable things. Applying it well is so much more important than being "good" or "bad". Think about what you can build that makes people's lives easier. Good things will follow.
