I'm white, my IDE is my terminal, in my terminal I can run any tool I need to get the job done, all without a shitty encumbering GUI.

This is the most delusional post I've read on IQfy in months.
Qt Creator is by far and away the most "white" IDE.

Indeed, form editors are a blessing. I remember Borderland C++ Builder in that matter. Also, I used Visual Basic 6 back in the day to build my first game. It was very easy to get along with it.

Has there ever been any proof that the person posting these 'come home white man' threads is not an old ass boomer? I don't mind the racism on this site but that shit just sounds cringe as hell. No way someone under the age of 50 is forcing this meme.

OP here. I don't know, but it just sits very well within my mindset, so I just repeat this shit.
It also sounds pretty funny. It's a running gag on IQfy from what I understand.

Ackshually, some modules are LGPL, so you can write proprietary software using those libraries.

Why does it not have a declarative language for qtwidget? Qt quick fricking sucks since its not type safe.

      Anonymous

Qml is just a UI layer, so it doesn't stand much to gain from type safety. All of your business logic, where it actually matters, should be in C++

I know that I want a better way of creating good looking applications with qt/qml but both suck dick. Qt quick controls looks like trash oob and QtWidgets gets very very annoying for moderately complex applications.
For example pic is the default look on linux it looks terrible.

its not a theme problem its the default qt quick style. For example if you really want to see how annoying qtquick/qml is try to implement the dialog in this

            [...]

you will quickly give up its frustrating for all the wrong reasons. QtWidgets is better but that sucks if you ever have to do any mvc stuff.

It's horrible. Also the code that it generates is nearly uncomprehensible mess. It's faster to just write everything from the start. It may have it's uses for prototyping or testing something out, but not much else.

does QC have a better version of qt designer?

      Anonymous

It's slightly better because the "designer" inside the QtCreator IDE has better integration with your source code, but overall its same the same underlying widget as the standalone QtDesigner. .

oh that's pretty cool. Is there a version for QML? or is that another tool?

          Anonymous

I don't have a detailed answer to that because I haven't worked with QML, I've only used the "old" Qt desktop widgets.
I do know that the "design" tab in QtCreator looks totally different when you open a .qml file vs. a traditional qt .ui file.
