Content platform

I'm building a content platform where you upload content and add it to your favorites
The core of the service is your own "homepage" that you can build without knowing HTML.
Your homepage consists of content you have favorited on the platform. You define yourself through meaningless meme crap and match with others based on similar content.

Because his ass is autistic and he thinks that people have to pay attention to his uninteresting shit.

      >why are you telling me?

      You dont understand the Internet.

People use the Internet for vocalizing each and every thought of emotion that comes to their heads.
That's why it's so dangerous. Companies can effectively read our minds.

      >Ok, sounds pretty generic.

What else should one build in 2024?
People only want funny pix and vids and to post one-line messages.
People are so STUPID and simple that social media will never evolve beyond vids + posts + attention.

Get some passion in your work, even the terminology ‘content platform’ is so pessimistic. There’s a million of them out there too, all peddling the same shit.
Do something you actually care about, is original, or that is helpful. No point adding another shallow social media attempt to the pile.

Anon I just want to make money and building a platform where users can repost shit made by others is the best way to do it.
I used to be an artist until I realized that real money is in hosting and reposting art by others. Youtube, for instance, has not produced a single video to date. Making videos is stupid. Hosting videos is smart.

It’ll be too hard to differentiate yourself amid the shovel seller crowd. The area is already saturated.
Money can be made in a lot of places, it’s just that ‘content’ flipping media sites are the easiest to see.
If you don’t give a shit and just want a pay day do some bullshit shovel service for ai, or choose an existing (pref niche) hobby and make something for that community.

Are you implying I need a gimmick for the site to stand out?
How about a "responsible" content platform that doesnt collect user data and my servers dont have a carbon footprint?
This will appeal to young leftist influencers.
Yes it will still be the same shit but repackaged, that's what people want. They dont want new ideas, they want digital drugs but not feel bad about doing them.

anon, such market is already saturated and plenty. yeah, companies made bank from investors and ad revenue by making a platform, but they did it back when the gold mine is rich. now, the gold mine is dry, opportunities have passed and only now you want to start a platform? pack up anon, find a different idea to start a business on.

also look up fediverse and federated networks, people have already hosted their own platforms that interconnects to other people's platforms. all free, no charge.

What kind of site should one make in 2024? What's the next big thing? Mastodon shit died out pretty quickly and Stallman-tier projects usually end up being very marginal
I legit dont know. I'm an old world guy who still uses IQfy

Doesn't YouTube operate on a loss? And getting worse? Lots of their content creators are quitting or moving to other platforms now too.
This kind of pattern was typical in the past for both image and file hosts. Not trying to discourage you but I want to make sure you're aware. For every long standing host there's a hundred that died. Even when they get popular like rapidshare, megaupload, and other ones I can't even remember for images, flash files, etc.

this seems like the premise of quite a few other content platforms, especially from the early 2000s, but you somehow still managed to get my attention.
    go on.

The cold hard fact is that consuming, sharing, favoriting, and commenting content doesnt get old. Ever. Nobody uses the Internet for studying. We come here to cons00m stimulating things and discussing them with our imaginary peers.
Here we are, posting photos on an imageboard in 2024. You felt a need to attach that moderately attractive girl in your post.

How is it supposed to be a contribution to society?
It sound to me like you're just a deadweight.
Have you considered a career in heroism?
