One of the biggest contributing factors for Edge leaving and going to AEW was that WWE wouldn't budge on the set number of dates they were allowing him to work. Which is something he's wanting to do more of before he gets too old too and understandably so after missing those 9 years. That's pretty evident again in the fact that he's wrestled twice as many matches just since coming to AEW than he did in all of 2023 with WWE. Plus Bryan can't cut a serious promo without smiling

Honestly, as amateur hour as AEW has been, the last 5 years have been such an entertaining ride of shitshows and hilarity. The wrestling world was in a dire state of being incredibly boring, so as much as AEW has done it in the worst way (for them) imaginable, they really have made wrestling fun. That's about the only thing true, the rest is just incredibly panicked damage control. If I were being given 7 figures by Tiny as a washed up old man with a broken neck, I'd cut a promo for him too, frick it.

Most WWE fans admit that WWE sucks outside a few good storylines but watch it anyways because they liked it when they were kids and they want it to get good again. Meanwhile AEW fans can't even accept the smallest criticisms of AEW, they are a genuine cult. If anybody with a modicum of influence in the wrestling business says anything bad about AEW they instantly circle the wagons, cut more muh fed bad promos, and double down on their gay indierific product.
