>His actions put the US on the trajectory to becoming a superpower. In fact, in a cynical way, you could actually say that him creating the League of Nations was actually what weakened Europe in a way that favored the US.
Yes. This destroyed western civilization.
America is anti-Imperialist. Liberalism can only spread through Imperialism. America, a Wilsonian cult, being the core of Western civilization means western civilization can no longer expand. The civilization of the world ground to a halt the moment America rose to power.

You're making my point for me. Euphemistic imperialism is toothless imperalism. It doesn't work. Look at the world today and tell me it's working.

It does work, the US is the only superpower, and it can practically do whatever it wants.

Have you seen how much the US spends on its military? It may have worked for awhile, but it is not working now. Anglo Saxon civilization is teetering and we're playing pattycake with ourselves in the corner and mumbling to ourselves about democratic self-determination. This was never going to work. Wilsonianism was a huge mistake.

What was the alternative lose the cold war? Have a communist aligned Mexico? Everything foreign policy wise since 1920's besides a couple of wasteful wars turned out great for the US. The only part that screwed us over was opening up to the Chinese.

America should've embraced imperialism.
My criticism is not aimed at the American successes under the Wilsonian world order. My criticism is aimed at its struggles. Those struggles are caused by America's dogged anti-imperialist streak. Anti-imperialism is an unnecessary handicap.

The US was never at a serious risk of losing the Cold War
It had every advantage going for it, and yet out of paranoia, chose to act like an insecure teenager desperately trying to impress others of its toughness instead of just settling down and letting Stalinism-Maoism run its natural course and burn itself out
Frankly its an embarrassment

"Anglo Saxon civilization" ended when the Normans took over, buddy
In what way did he do that though? His actions put the US on the trajectory to becoming a superpower. In fact, in a cynical way, you could actually say that him creating the League of Nations was actually what weakened Europe in a way that favored the US.

The United States is the core of Western civilization. If the US goes, then so does the West.
That's not a good thing.
>That's not a good thing.
Maybe not, but it's a true thing. The US is the defender of the faith(liberalism).
You're right
It's a great thing
The United States isn't western at all it's Eastern.
The American people share most of their DNA and behaviors with the common woodland squirrel
