i tip my hat. a true conoisseur of the finer arts.
im more of a grug type. on top of that i have tinnitus. as a result computer speakers and shit bitrate is perfectly good for me.
mainly because i couldnt tell the difference with something better. also because i tend to unintentionally break things, kek
yes.
and what a glorious time it was
the interwebz was fun and full of interesting stuff
torrent was not yet a thing neither were smartphones
michael jackson was still alive and movies were good, without pretentious political statements
We had an old shitty computer at our country home with Windows 98 on it, we would play CD music through Winamp sometimes. Well into the mid or late 2010s, until the computer finally died.
i've been using it since 2002, but i'm thinking of switching to something else since the local database that keeps track of song listens randomly shit the bed and it made me sad. i
i've thought about learning WACUP and seeing how exactly the db file is getting tripped up and how it got corrupted, but i don't know the first thing about programming on windows, nor do i know c++
I still use it today, I don't think I've found any programs that can replace it's ability to play whatever the frick file I want, from amiga mods to whatever game console sound format.
I've posted mine about a half dozen times so far so excuse the fatigue.
Yeah, I've got the whole Big O soundtrack. It fricking slaps and Dorothy a cute.
Does anyone know if it's possible to assign an image to show up instead of the folder art for a specific song in a folder? Specifically for files that can't have the image directly embedded into the file? Is that even possible?
Set album art instead of icons, change your folder view to thumbnails. Pretty sure there are programs to set album art on audio files, but you might have to wipe their attributes if they automatically download their own album info when opened in a media player. Only other way I can think of is to make static music videos. With something like VLC you can turn the video track off at playtime.
Honestly these days I just use Plex in a browser window.
Would like to switch to Jellyfin but I don't think it's quite there for music yet, and while theres plenty of "Open" alternatives out there, you still have to pay for them like Plex, with stupid price tags because muh audiophile experience.
Then again I don't keep anything local on any of my computers, all my music is on a home server and I can listen to it on my laptop, desktop or phone and cast it to a speaker or something. Yes I have embraced the convinencecucked experience.
Winamp is, despite newer programs available, still the best choice for music.
I started using it in 1997, when Frankel released his first version of the player and i am still using it as my main music player
>don't have any music downloaded on my PC right now despite pirating a shitload of software/movies/shows >just use spotify premium
I like discovering music and it's good for that. Also very cheap IMO but whatever.
Yes, what else would I use? Foobar??
WACUP or musicbee
If musicbee didn't have such a buggy plugin for milkdrop I would switch to it.
y no vlc?
you use vlc to listen to music
always did
i play all my media on it
i even use it on my phone bc samsung's player is thrash
what gives?
Does not support the 20 so odd chip emulators for me to listen to my shitty boomer vidya music too
still use from time to time, even under wine
the plugins for the various game console music formats are still unbeaten
yeah this. if you find one for foobar or whatever they're usually lq and don't even implement the most important feature: infinite replay/looping

i stopped using vlc because it would skip the last 3 seconds of a track no matter what and i couldn't find anything on it
yes.

Years ago, when it was good. Then around 2012 I switched to fb2k and I haven't looked back.
same timeline but soon after I stopped collecting music
now I get music from youtube like a peasant
I think at the time I was using windows 98 and napster to download shitty mp3s on ISDN, it was amazing.

Yes I did and now I use qmmp
For about ten years, until 2010 when I switched to foobar.
I still use Winamp
Yes
SOUL
For me it's the megaman x skin
I want to but I can never tell which old version I should use. Which version is that? Also share skin
I would listen to music on Winamp all night.
Then go to sleep hoping that 3 minute song I was downloading on Napster would be done by morning.
i still use it
yes and I still do. Why doesn't everyone?
I use the WinAMP classic interface on Audacious.
Why would I stop?

I still use it.
Still use it, nothing else comes close
I still use it today, I don't think I've found any programs that can replace it's ability to play whatever the frick file I want, from amiga mods to whatever game console sound format.
Not anymore. Musicbee is much more convenient.
I use AIMP because I work for the FSB
>all the posts with "yes I do" but no screenshots
Post screenshots
you first
Didn't plan on posting but since you asked.
I want to have a laptop that can play all those games and be able to install XP on it or Windows 7. Which laptop should I get?
Any modern laptop will work for that.
I've posted mine about a half dozen times so far so excuse the fatigue.

incredibly based tastes in both music and girls

>Did
I still DO use Winamp as my daily driver !!!
It's oozing soul
I still use it ever since I first got a PC. It's just perfect.
Winamp, it really whips the llama's ass
Honestly these days I just use Plex in a browser window.

Yes, until my library grew so big Winamp became slow, moved to foobar2000 then.
>Winamp chad
>move to Betabar2000 and not AIMP
doesn't make sense, did your balls get cut off or something?
Winamp is, despite newer programs available, still the best choice for music.

Of course and xmms. The alternative was fricking windows media player.
Nope. Was pretty fricking redundant since every OS even then came with a media player that played music
still do, in practice
