I'm an audiophile, too. I use a phone and a $70 set of Bluetooth headphones where the pleather covering the foam cups is peeling off. Sounds fantastic.
All current dedicated hardware designed specifically for music are just phone guts.

Idk, haven't measured it. For all I know it's decent assuming you don't need much of an amplifier. Of course, just because it accepts 24 bits doesn't mean it actually has a good signal/noise ratio.
