skeuomorphism can be done right, and it can also be done in a terrible way. Windows 7, and iOS did it best, but maybe I am bias.
Old GNOME 3 versions is a example of it done terribly it just looks bland, also it can be the opposite too bright and tacky, just look at Unix ricers at the time to know what I am talking about
Android looked better than iOS when they did that design but that was shit too.
Glad for the redesign. perfection was android 11.
Android 12, looks worse.

Agreed honestly tempted to downgrade to Android 11 or 10 because 11 removed access to data folder

Take me back to Android 4.4 KitKat 🙁
I remember the day it went downhill and I upgraded to 5.1 lollipop.
>app draw is useless
having 64gb is considered "low" these days. many people are buying 256 and 512gb phones. the reason app drawers exist is because people often download an app for one specific purpose, and they might use it twice a year. think a tax app, an app for a specific airline or train station, an app for a city that they visit once a year, etc.
having an app drawer contains those and gets them out of your way when you arent using them, which is most of the time. then your home screens have things you frequently use
Kind of. You had to actually be decent at graphic design for it to look any good though, which is why it died. The same does apply to minimal design but the barrier to entry is still significantly lower.
I agree that a lot of new iOS features are bloat, and implemented in ass backwards over complicated ways. The control center is arranged by a schizophrenic. You have to do a much more shit to move icons around now, and they throw in arbitrary restrictions to frick with you. Meanwhile on Android you just drag it, and you can put shit wherever you want. ACTUALLY simple. They also need to update their system icons, especially the messaging and phone apps, they look like whoever made them spent 2 minutes on them in paint.net. Fine in 2013 when the whole system was ooh shiny but now they just bring the rest down

I don't miss the glossy bubble look, I think it's tacky, and the modern super minimal look is lazy and depressing, the inbetween was perfect. Maps, reminders, facebook to an extent are good examples. Bit of detail, bit of texture, bit of depth, not over the top, perfect. Unfortunately apple was always inconsistent with this, the bubbled icons don't really fit in my opinion. The icons themselves are mostly fine (especially the pages icon, that makes me hard) it's just that stupid bubble overlay that ruins it for me.
I'm fine with any design philosophy that makes a button look like a fricking button. I don't particularly miss skeuomorphism, but it at least had got this right over the shitshow that we've been suffering through the recent years.
No, it was fricking awful good riddance.
No, i miss my ex.
I do
Yes, but I was never a big fan of the iOS interface
Mac OS X had a consistently better interface
god no
anybody saying they liked it is doing so out of pure nostalgia

That was fricking awful.
I liked iOS 6-, iOS 7+ looked tacky. They only just now kinda made it look decent with the new design in my opinion.
Now I think they are ruining it again with feature bloat, app draw is useless, I also hate how android has a app draw

it's I AM BIASED
not I AM BIAS
you are not the BIAS, you are BIASED
fricking moron
Trolling is a art
The only good skeuomorphic UI is the Wii and Windows 7.
Back when things were sovlful

No, it’s for smelly homosexuals. The game centre green baize always madd me feel itchy.
Like you wouldn't believe.
It can look like shit, but bad skeuomorphism looks better than good flatshit and it's not even a contest.
beautiful
Looks horrible, post some good examples at least
everyday man im tired of flat but they trying to make flat 3d now dude
>skeuomorphism
soul
>flat/neumorphism
soulless
Everything is so lifeless and flat... Windows 11 brings some back but it needs more...

This. Buttons that just look like a text string or picture are the worst, next to gestures for navigation
It was awful, but flatshit is even worse.
Yes!! Updating to iOS 7 was one of the worst decision I’ve ever done
no i miss actual buttons and switches not tapping on slabs of glass
