There's a bit of nuance. 漫画 refers to the images while コミック is the medium they run in. They aren't fully interchangeable.
You would say you draw 漫画 but you don't draw コミック. You can read either of them.
The color deficiency and the cost of E-ink devices is why I just have an iplay50 mini Pro 8.4" as my reader, the 10" is just too heavy and bulky for long term use.
Kobos are Linux-based (but they dot have a color one yet, maybe try Pocketbook)

I was looking into pocketbook recently, but there doesn't seem to be a reliable way to get them here in the US. I could probably grab one the next time I'm in Europe, though.

Just make sure to avoid the Good-e-reader fronts.

Ah, cool. The color 3 doesn't seem to be available directly from them though. Also, QRD on good-e-reader?

>Also, QRD on good-e-reader?
They run a drop-shipping service and demand a lot of extra fees. They have a ton of different shops with similar interfaces and search engine optimized names that don't actually state they are related to them.
Additionally they run a Youtube channel with bogus "reviews". They can be useful to see what's out there but you shouldn't trust what they say or buy from them.
In case of Pocketbook they had a preorder page for the Viva, which never went into production due to Pocketbook being unhappy with the Gallery 3 screens, with a countdown that was just reset whenever it ran out.

I'm still mostly a beginner who can read hiragana and katakana fine but I don't spend as much time as I'd like on it to be fair. it's barely been a couple months, I still rely on a translator for almost everything
I've used a mix of Anki cards and AI translations so far, but like I said I've also been procrastinating a lot
Tab Ultra C for almost a year now.
There aren't that many Kaleido 3 devices out there, at least not outside of China, almost all use Android and even Pocketbook has started adopting it.
They also still haven't announced a 13" color yet.
I wish someone would make a tachiyomi that you could sideload into a kindle to read manga. It's too much effort having to download and package it to work inside of the existing ecosystem.
Yes.
I would gladly e-ink but the only ones that aren't crap for high detail images cost the same if not more than a decent tablet.
Until this changes there is zero reason to use anything other than tablets for manga
>Animation is fine, the the drawn source material is for children.
What an odd distinction. Nearly all halfway decent animes have a manga as source material. I don't really read manga, but my understanding from all the weebs on here and IRL is that just like a Hollywood adaptation of a book, things get omitted from the manga either for time constraints or wider accessability.
If you wanted to say, Shounen is fine, but Shojou is for little girls, (which is what Shou-jou, literally means), that would be fine,
and if you wanted to be a real stickler, you could even say Seinen is fine, but Shounen is for little boys (this is literally what "Shou-nen" means) even if you are excluding Death Note, and 90% of popular anime on this website, such as DBZ and Naruto, which I don't watch or enjoy, but I'm sure enough anons here do.

Stop studying individual WORDS or individual KANJI, and start studying SENTENCES.
Look up the JLAB deck. It's fricking awesome, and I've never felt closer to fluency (though I'm still not there yet.)
I'll look that up, thanks anon
Anki was kinda convenient for me because it runs on my Kobo so that's ideal for lazy days in bed. I definitely need more motivation so maybe that'll help
I prefer printed manga.
But I would also use a tablet too when >tablet screen size same as standard manga size >good battery life >support of most comic book formats, photo file formats (.jpg, .png, .bmp, etc) and archive files out of the box >~40-60 €/$
why whould you paint male nails?
ana diaz is not a male,
That's a man.
>manga
Why do burgers cuck their own language? Just say comics.
manga=comics like dc, fables, sandman
anime=cartoon / adult cartoon like invincible
nope anon i'm an EU chad
Don't be autistic my man.
because they denote different genres, tropes and expectation. Different words exist for a reason don't be an autist
Even the Japanese use 漫画 (manga) and コミック (comic) interchangeably. Only autistic weebs get anal about the term utilized.

You would say you draw 漫画 but you don't draw コミック. You can read either of them.
English died in 1066 with the Norman Conquest, it's the peak mutt bastard language.
Because when I say manga I don't want people to think about batman and when I say adult cartoon I don't want people to think nichijou
its that simple
manga is shorter to say than "Japanese comics" but is equally as descriptive.
You can read non-Japanese comics.
The color deficiency and the cost of E-ink devices is why I just have an iplay50 mini Pro 8.4" as my reader, the 10" is just too heavy and bulky for long term use.
Is Mihon still the go to for manga?
i say "manga comics"
>burgers
>their own language
Brit bros…
You do realize that anime is just short for animation and manga is short for magazine right?
Where is the "n" in maga?
Where is the e in animation?
Animeshon.
No, big vertical screen is better.
Of course. I'm not an ereader cuck.
and not a paper reader ?
Is color e-ink good yet? I've always preferred e-ink over proper displays for reading.
It works for me.
Which reader do you have? Preferably I'd want something with a linux-based OS, not android-based.
I read them on my Kobos (Sage and Glo HD)

I don't really see the issue. They are tablets after all.
I can do a frick lot more with an actual tablet compared to some shitty underpowered e-ink device
Like what?
i'm not a child so i don't read manga
i would frick the bottom anime in your pic tho
You should read/watch it just for Yoru.
>Do you read manga on tablet ?
No.
I download what I want, print it, put it into neat little paperbacks and then read.
Yes. I also watch videos, read books and news on it. Phones screens are too fricking small
yes
mihon or perfect viewer with lanczos scaling
No. I don't read it at all. Girlfriend reads some thing about a hamster or something, seems alright but not really my thing
Reading manga in the bath is pretty much the only thing mine is for
have you tried showering and then snuggling up in blankets on your bed and reading manga there? might be the move anon, might be the move.
animu is fine but manga is unironically for chidren
hope the based jannies ban you for being underage
moron
Stupid arisugay
suck my fricking wiener dude
No

tried out the latest inkpad in the store, it was noticeably quicker than my old lux 3 but still pretty pathetic how little the tech has progressed.
