No, reading is only done as a cope for when you are unhappy.
People who don't read instead live.

When are you going to get your Bugatti if you waste your time reading books? Yes, only nerds who can't get laid read books. /s

I actually think about this alot. I am 32 and I spent a lot of my 20s reading and I feel like there has been a lot of great stuff that has come of it. But I dread what I am missing out on. I never travelled or had any real adventures. I feel like I have become an ivory tower dwelling shut in. There are things to do and see out there. All I do is work and read and go to the pub with my friends. I feel like I need to go somewhere and do something.

Better yet what do we think of audiobookgays?

If you have the time sit down and read. If you're commuting or some shit where there's distractions everywhere then plugging your ears up with a book is probably among the better ways to make use of that time.

Audiobookgays? You mean audiobookgays who don't read books? Audiobookgays listen to books. Audiogays I guess alright... If your a gay... Nothing wrong with that.. we have a gay parades and all for that... MUST BE GOOD THAN.

Good way for dyslexic and busy people to participate in the enjoyment of literature.

I love to read but English is not my native language so I read quite slow and it's very exhausting, usually I'd be too tired halfway through the book.

No, reading literature does not automatically make you worthy of respect. You can read a lot, and still be stupid as frick. In the same vein, not reading literature does not imply that you are stupid as frick. I'd bet there a lot of people that don't read literature that are a lot smarter than some who do. It's a matter of individuals.

Reading can also be as inane as TV/Movies in my opinion. If you're reading grade school level smut then you're no different than a TV junkie. I got my cousin to read less smut and I can already see the improvement in her reading abilities. She took up reading poetry on her own.

I'm not against fiction or anything. I just believe in challenging yourself.

No. I'm a moron myself and have a hard time discussing philosophy and literature with people who have a degree. Let me talk about Jung's books and pop fantasy with people who's insight is just as shallow as mine. They even think I'm smart because I've listened to lectures. Living the life as a pseud explaining Nietzsche to girls.

I used to be like you but what helped me was to actually start writing out summaries of what ive read as essays or presentations in order to organize my thoughts. People in college do this constantly which is why they are better spoken than us degreelets

On average, yes. But the correlation between reading and being intelligent/interesting is extremely small.

yeah, I've found there's no real correlation between intelligence and reading. someone who reads might know more facts, sure, but that's not the same as intelligence.

Then explain how America was formed by a group of intellectuals whose population had higher literacy rates than any other nation? The common man read voraciously and frequently went to lecture halls to listen for hours.

Reading text was literally the only media that existed, you fricking moron. You might as well be asking why didn't people watch TV back then.

This is the kind of high IQ cerebral thinking that reading fiction gets you

No, people who read do it as a substitute for not getting the pussy they want, or getting any at all. And women never "read" to begin with, they just passed their time or used books as shibboleths.

Yes, normalgays that don’t read aren’t some super-intelligent Ubermensch above reading. They’re just moronic. Literally. They can’t sit down and read a book.

No. Because most people who read books read fiction and fantasy.

Any guy who doesn't read books but instead just watches historical documentaries is infinitely more intelligent and a better person than the homosexuals who obsess over lotr or whatever the frick flavor of the week fantasy shit is popular at the time

    reading is just consooming
not a real hobby like painting or making music
my point is only proven going into shelf threads and seeing all those pristine books that are never cracked open
literature is just a fashion accessory
    >oh im a reader you see im not like you peasant NPCs
just look at poltards and fitgays for example who pretend they know anything about art and literature from being a wikipedia warrior
