I doubt it, I think it'll die shortly when Pop team realises how much effort it is to handle an entire DE. It's just a waste of time, especially since they don't really seem to make any big breakthroughs or improvements compared to Plasma and GNOME. Linux ecosystem is full of autistic people that think restarting everything from zero is a smart idea, while every other big company realizes that it's a suicide because you are starting from scratch and will inevitably start building up mistakes again, while others keep advancing, not wasting time, and having a strong legacy base.

Cosmic is going to be the first Linux DE that is developed in the same style as Windows and macOS: by a private company with paid workers. No moronic governance models or CoCs. Just professional engineers working to deliver a result.
