its battery swelled up to about twice its original size and popped the back cover off so I had to replace it in like 2017 or so.

I have a Sidekick 3, HTC Dream (first Goolag phone), I'd have to relocate the Sidekick charger, and the HTC Dream might be hard to find but I could power it on (the battery isn't fricked). I have a Galaxy S here but threw away the original battery, it's currently on an alternative chinky battery I got from Amazon and... I don't trust it. lol

pic related, not my pic bit used to have a first gen black iPod Nano running Rockbox and I love how the thing looked and felt but someone damaged it with water and it couldn't turn on since. Back when it worked I liked playing my oggs and flacs, setting EQ, and also played Doom on it a lot during highschool lol

I have c6625 but the battery looks bloated, probably it's the reason why it won't charge and turn on.

im sick of my phone, im constantly on it checking bullshit that i dont need to be doing, im a moron newbie when it comes to tech but wanted to ask if it was worth it to get a shitter phone from childhood, nothing was more satisifying than slamming your phone shut or wippin it out, i also like the nostalgic aesthetic, i only use phone to call or text bff or mommy anyway, is worth?

you'll most likely have trouble getting older phones to connect to modern phone networks, at&t is already phasing out 3g by feb 2022

    >Samsung SGH-C300
It still turns on, but I have no mini-sized SIM card to test it out. Also the calendar on those only supported years until 2014.
My Galaxy Nexus from 2012 still works, too. Still has some variant of CyanogenMod 13 installed, the dependency on a vendored Linux 3.0 and the camera blob taking 1/3 of the RAM make anything more modern not worth it.

Nevermind, still had a deactivated one around and could read some old texts from 2009-2011.
Also someone decompiled the only J2ME game on it which wasn't an EA trial.

It would if i hadnt specifically burned it in a fire to decomission it. It needed a new battery though.

I had to swtich off my old lg I was using for the last 10yrs. it needed another battery replacement (again) and it was starting to show its age and almost none of the apps worked so it basically was just a phone and for text. the final straw was when I moved to this new location and I had no bars anywhere so I basically was phoneless. so I got a new phone with better service and all that and got bars out here in the boonies. nice cuz sometimes sitting on my phone and browsing or reading threads like this is nice.
either way I was more frustrated with my old phone by the end sadly.

All GSM phones work here, 2G is not going anywhere.
I understood that in the United States they started to aggressively dismantling 2G network but never got any reasoning for it.

Here they keep GSM pretty much just as the least common denominator for roaming. Also overcrowding on the common LTE bands isn't going to get any better with 3G shutting down.

Canada seems to be dismantling 2g as well.
