Also in a real oven you can space out the food so they cook evenly.
Especially french fries, the thing they shill them the most with, always end up burnt on top and raw on the bottom, every time. Then they just tell you to “shake it” every 5 minutes, so they can blame you
> Have to shake it
You don’t cook a steak on one side, do you?
Also, turn the temp down. Of course you’re going to burn the top if you’re trying to cremate them at max temp
praying on oil slurping people is low
It makes the best steak fries, though. It is all I use mine for.
It's just a small oven, but that's still a convenient thing to have depending on what you cook. Doesn't take half an hour to preheat.
So why not just get a normal small oven?
He just fricking told you.
He didn't. He just said a small oven is a convenient to have.
And didn't explain why he chose an air fryer over an actual small oven.
I have the one in your pic and it's awesome
It IS just a small oven, but the difference is that it becomes hot in 1 minute and that the small size and high wind speed mean that it cooks extremely fast.
I cook almost anything in it that isn't a liquid. It replaces your pan too, except for high quality steak.
I use it to cook fries, salmon steak, sausages, vegetables, minced meat, baguettes (halved), cheeses, chicken...
I don't use my oven anymore except to make brownies.
Mine doesn't have the wire rack. Looks very useful.
If you can't have two layers in your airfryer then it's honestly just half as useful.
I'd return it and get the Xiaomi airfryer in the OP pic, it's a 10/10.
But get the version without the glass window. It's cheaper and dishwasher safe. The glass window isn't dishwasher safe.
why are they circumcised
It's a small oven for people who don't need big ovens.
Nah it's different, try cooking beef jerky or drying out some vegetables like carrots.
You can save money on oil when making chips and other oven foods.
The best bit is: You're heating the whole kitchen, wasting energy for nothing
Ovens use more energy than airfryers.
A convection oven uses 2000 to 5000 watts, needs 10+ minutes to preheat, and then another 20 mintues to cook the fries.
Meanwhile an airfryer only uses 1500 watts, doesn't need any preheating, and cooks the fries in 15 minutes.
If you do the math, the oven uses like twice as much electricity.
No airfryer will make me 1KG of fries in 15 minutes. Besides: Read the thread. Also: Look at them mental gymnastics, everyone.
>Umm, Nvidia AI takes over the world. We're all job- and homeless in 2 weeks!
>Nvidia 1kW GPU hooray!
>You want food? Here, 100W ought to be enough for everybody.
Go vegan, am I right?
>No airfryer will make me 1KG of fries in 15 minutes
That's true, they're for 1 to 3 persons. Ideal for singles and couples.
If you need 1kg of fries you're cooking for a large family and then you need to use an oven. Or do two batches.
>No airfryer will make me 1KG of fries in 15 minutes.
small ovens don't have the same capacity as big ovens, no fricking shit
Also, with an oven you need to carefully arrange the fries on the tray so that they aren't too close to each other, and then when you want to take them out you need to take them off the tray carefully or you spill them.
Meanwhile with an airfryer you just dump them in the bucket, and when they're done you dump the bucket on the plate. Saves so much time and effort
You're supposed to dump half of them in there, and the other half on top of the grill which is shown here:
Maybe read the manual. And shaking it is every 7 minutes and takes literally 2 seconds
Oh, well in that case... I'll take 2!
Fricking idiot.
SChizo
Starving is even better than being schizo, give it a try!
I'm quite happy with mine but I do use "bake" mode half the time. It's a better shape than a toaster oven so it's cool.
Don't forget to buy a nicer dicer and a george foreman grill as well, while you're at it.
>nicer dicer
They work and they're popular, but they break quickly because they're plastic.
I recommend the alligator instead, it's pricier but lasts a lifetime and the blades are sharp as frick and don't go dull.
it's an oven that is made of cheap plastic that leaches into your food and the thing stops working after 1-2 years because israelitepitalism
>he didn't get a Gourmia
i feel like air fryers are the ultimate litmus test
no cooking consoomer gadget is quite as stupid as air fryers
half of the fries look raw
Being a mini oven is kind of their main benefit, at least it takes my oven what feels like half an hour to preheat, airfryers get up to temp within a couple of minutes.
Lumi is so thin these days
yeah thats the point dipshit
small oven cooks faster
they also usually have a fan
frick the fans
why do they call it microwave when the waves are pretty long, albeit
well it's not a picowave
The most concerning thing is that no companies that traditionally make ovens have gotten in on airfryers, just chink companies and companies that flip chinkshit.
If NEF, Bosch, Miele, AEG, etc. started making them, maybe i'd take it seriously as a real appliance.
I want a microwave with air fryer/convection built in. LG and KitchenAid have them, probably more brands do now. Seems like a good feature and saves the space of having a separate countertop air fryer. I could use that space for a stand mixer, always wanted one of those.
I’ve got a microwave with the oven stuff built in, but my attempts to use the oven parts cause the whole thing to smoke up. Dunno why.
It’s called cope, the business divisions that made ovens would veto the whole thing, since they know that air friers replace ovens almost completely in most homes.
A lot of the anons shilling ovens here don't realize how large of a percentage of first world countries are pod-people in megacities and have a 4ftx4ft apartment, eat only frozen food, and live alone or with their partner and no kids. And that's only going to get worse and worse. In that situation, an air frier is objectively better than an oven. More efficient, less space, large enough to cook what you need, etc. The oven of the dystopian future is an air frier.
t. oven only user, hate using air friers because tism
Taste tomorrow, today!
That's actually a disgusting image. Impressive
The practicality only depends on being alone, everything else you mentioned was irrelevant.
You could be rich living alone innawoods and an an air fryer would still be useful, to go with your thermomix and pacojet.
I eat more vegetables with my air fryer because it's quicker to roast them in the air fryer than the oven. I eat lots of broccoli and potatoes now
>he fell for the meme
Deserved.
>don't listen to anyone
>never have a conversation
You're the reason that joke was worthwhile. You're a nursery rhyme.
air fryers can cook frozen fish fillets without having to thaw first. An oven can't do that.
holy shit westerners can't stop reinventing the wheel, just use an oven
I still prefer the good old toaster oven. It gets my quesadillas perfect everytime.
if you wanted a convection function, automatic timer and some steam, what do you do? Pay $2k or w/e to replace your good old well-liked oven or get one of these?
Some of these also have good top/bottom grill type heating BTW, but if it's more than top heat + convection they often build them like a conventional oven with front trays.
I have one of those Ninja combi things that can steam and airfry at the same time. It can also do other shit.
It's a small convection oven, which are pretty overpriced in many areas so no one has them.
It easily can be a small oven with better convection and steam function than many people had/have in their big ovens. it may be easier to clean via dishwasher or even in a sink (because not everyone had a large sink either).
IMO a pretty nice cooking tool.
Why does food take less time in an airfryer than an oven?
