Everyone is different but in my experience for most people it slows their reading and wrecks their comprehension.
Personally I'm the exact opposite, I read really fast and comprehend a lot more when stoned.
When I'm stoned I can take things in and form intuitive links that when sober i might have missed, especially when the prose is longwinded and tortuous (Moby Dick, Blood Meridian)

But again this seems to be the exception to the rule. All of my friends and gf say they cannot read for shit when stoned so it's a personal thing

      >weed addiction
Such a tragically naive concept. Sure it might be scientifically addictive but if you think quitting a weed addiction is even slightly comparable to the physical and mental anguish of alcohol withdrawals, opiates or heroin or virtually any other drug you are insane or just really naive

You can quit weed after years of daily use and be fine. Maybe a little grumpy and suppressed appetite. It's not like alcohol, vomiting up your stomach lining and shaking cold unable to think, sweat freezing in your pores

You haver to be really sheltered to think that weed "addiction" is anywhere near as bad

That's another imaginary first world problem, Anon. If you seriously think someone "addicted" to porn will suffer the same way as a heroin addict whose dopesick you are delusional.

nta but you sound like a pretentious c**t, no offense. no one said weed addiction is as bad as anything you described but it is undeniably a thing and people saying weed is a soft drug with no consequences are untrustworthy. this post of yours was basically you trying to posture as a rough and tough experienced individual.

I'm not trying to posture as rough and tough, I haven't had alcohol or opiate withdrawal but I have seen others go through it and if you think "weed addiction" seriously has the same effects or even remotely similar effects to what an actual addiction does to a persons health, their life and their loved ones you are so naive it's beyond belief.
          >people saying weed is a soft drug with no consequences are untrustworthy
Not really seeing as it literally leaves your system within a month and has no long term adverse effects like actually damaging drugs including alcohol and opiates. Weed is objectively one of the safest drugs you could consume with the least consequences, behind only lsd and mushies.
You don;t have to be "a rough and tough experienced individual
to know that weed is not a problem in the grand scheme of things and i honestly feel sorry for you that that's how you read into my post

I still don't get why people are so affectionate of their vices. The best I can say about weed is that it helped me flush five terrible years on this wretched earth down the shitter, and with them went whatever potential they could have held. Now I'm left wiping the droplets of shit, piss and water off the ceramic in hopes it's not all in vain.

I used to do this when I was much younger. The benefit was that I felt like I dove deeper into the characters minds and experienced their motivations and emotions on (what I thought was) a much deeper level than when I was sober. As I got older and stopped smoking, I was able to achieve this same feeling sober. The detriment of smoking was that retention of the overall story plummeted. Overall: not worth it. Keep strengthening your imagination without the use of weed and you will thank yourself later.

Some fiction which aims to be such is fine to read while high but I generally don't smoke and read unless it's druggy/trippy, something light and I am in a situation where I'm smoking anyway, or poetry. I wouldn't say it enhances reading, generally speaking.

I stick the tube in my mouth and pump that shit in while reading. I hate remembering books because then I can't enjoy them for the first time again, so if I really dig the text I'm perusing I'll bop some Xanax. Reading paradise lost for the 4th time in two years and I still can't remember vast swaths of it.
