It's not obvious. PDF and djvu preserves the book perfectly. Heavy texts on A4 have deliberate formatting, tables and footnotes that are atrocious on epubs. I can also cite the actual page and know for certain with PDF. For me it's PDF > physical books > epub. Many pirated epubs either have been poorly OCRd from a PDF or have chunks of content missing (see some of the in copyright recent translations of Goncharov floating around for epub, awful). PDF I know right away if something is off. I hate epubs. You probably don't own a Fujitsu Quaderno or a Sony DPS 13" device. Of course a PDF is going to look and work like shit on a kobo tier 7" eReader.

pdfs suck dick, i can never remember whether my kindle uses mobi or epub though

      >sucks dick
      >though
Reddit vernacular. Funny how much seething there is over PDF but nobody has an argument. All rhetoric (usually reddit rhetoric) and no argument. Strong words. No substance. Worthless post.

      mobi if it's kindle

Well sometimes I have to make do with pdf because I can't find the epub or the book was never released in epub.

Not that guy, but calibre has a serviceable conversion from pdf to epub. It misinterpret some text, but I've read full books converted with it.

Mine just converts each page of PDF to an image in EPUB. That feature is unusable.

    Whats wrong with pdfs

Notice how they did not reply to you.
Notice how the majority of criticism in this thread is prole screeching fit for a soijak.jpg like "no shit" followed by no argument.

Most of the pro-PDF posters asserted actual arguments and uses.

The pro epub posters fail to make any case or are so painfully smoothbraines it hurts like

No shit, pdf is pictures, epub is text

or the fifth reply to OP.

The real reason for why they think PDF BAD is device limitation

      >put pdf on my kindle
      >letters, words, and whole paragraphs disappear or gets so wide they are ineligible

. These puny 6" ereaders are crippled. It they had a Sony DPT 13", or a Quaderno or a Boox Max, they would feel differently about the format because the device would show it properly.

I read PDF's on an 8" inch tablet and have not had any issues reading them. Don't even have to zoom in on any pages either. Most of these anti-PDF homosexuals are just eyelet incels that probably require reading glasses in order to read properly (fricking lol).

Why are you so upset? Basically it comes down to individual pdf documents being better on pc. But if I'm reading a digital book epub is much better because it goes on kindle.

If you don't like pdfs, you're not reading digitally. Any person that actually reads pdfs likes them. Same can't be said for epub files.

My mistake. I meant to say most PDF are scanned pieces of shit. Find me an unpopular book with neat formatting and bookmarks. Protip you can't.

Don't worry, nothing has changed. You don't read pdfs.

Also want to add this goes for EPUB's as well. Any format that isn't PDF looks like homosexual trash.

These days, you can just find a free copy of virtually any relatively popular book online. Before the internet, you depended on libraries and bookstores. Honestly, a physical is ideal, but it is better to have access to the book in an electronic form than not at all. Also, the ability to search for words and information.

Lmao. PDFkeks are seething in this. Enjoy your bloat that doesn't look good on any screen. Meanwhile I'm thoroughly enjoying my epub format. Though if you are researching and citing something PDF helps for page numbers but for general reading and everything else I'll take epub every day of the week.
