Even though the caliphate splintered and became weaker and weaker almost as soon as it was established, how did its culture triumph over the more ancient and established ones in the region even as arab armies completely disappeared?

Islam
Through constant repression. Iberia went through reconquista, Egypt wasn't fully Muslim until late 15th century, as Copts (non-arab native Egyptians) constantly made threatening noises and they were majority population (hence crusades for Alexandria), Persia went through a long period of persecution of Zoroastrianism and always kept itself separate from the Arabs (they went full Shia).
Forced taxes on non-believers and constant military pressure on other civilizations meant internal control was a mixture of slow acculturation and economic expansion due to the size of territory controlled. By taking Levant, Iraq and Persia, they ended the centuries of roman-sassanian stalemate and opened up trade routes that were restricted previously.

this mostly, Arabia and the Levant went from a border/frontier region to a trading and cultural centre after the Romans and Persians were gone
It didn't? Do you have any idea how much Persia, Egypt and Turkey influenced Arab culture?
kek
Islam completely obliterated every single culture it ever conquered. It's globohomosexual on steroids.
Imagine any other cultural force before modernity being able to turn everything from Morocco to current-day Pakistan into the exact same grey, shapeless, colorless, characterless mass.
Truly horrifying, we need pogroms for nonwhites
these people have never read a book on this topic
correction: i think guy number 2 read in god's path by robert g hoyland, and then never touched the topic again
The simple answer is:
>there were way less people existing in the world
>as a result the niche local tribes we read about often compromised of very small numbers
>the genocides carried out in the wars of Islamic expansion, much like the genocides in Mongol wars of conquest, were very thorough.
Lol no. Say what you want about muzzies but they never reached the absolute levels of population culling that made Genghis and Timur famous.
Notice the geographic positioning of peak caliphates, its eaay to spreqd islam to areas inhabited by brown already inbred goat herders
To all shitskins in the thread; kiss your rock
Why are you bosting modern art?
What's true is that without Islam, Christianity would have dominated all the Middle East until today with maybe a schism making unique sects not unlike Islam itself. Christianity was growing in Persia too
Islam is just a Christian heresy, albeit by far the most virulent one, so, in away, Christianity rules supreme, when you think about it. It did the job of obliterating MENA paganism like Christianity did in Europe and the Americas.
Yeah Islam was originally a Christian offshoot (they even prayed towards Jerusalem not Mecca)
Paying taxes and sacrifices to one god is simpler and cheaper than doing it to dozens of gods. There really is not any more to it.
