>Everything works fine
>Until suddenly when I go and add new movies and shows to my collection everything breaks down
>Can't extract metadata from TMDB for some reason
>Cannot watch some anime for some reason about codecs even though everything I have is .mkv
>Also can't see individual episodes
>Also stops loading entire folders forcing me to have to use the alphabetical feature to find what I'm looking for
>Reset everything
>Suddenly everything is worse and I see even less on the main screen and in folders
>Can't even access the plugin catalog
Is this what I get for trusting freetard software like this? I've seen so many GitHub issues on Jellyfin and none seem to correct my issues, why is Jellyfin held together with glue and prayers?
Works on my machine sounds like your install is fricked
dont defend jellyfin, everyone knows the developers are moronic
>it's bad
>can't name a thing wrong with it
moron
pure lies
mkv isn't a codec. what are you talking about? You probably just need to be patient and give it time to actually scan your stuff
mine just werx
maybe don't install it in ARM-based loonix shitbox
why didn't you just use Plex
>Proceed people to pay to stream their own content.
Yeah sounds awesome.
if you are used to mpv never making any problems it sure sucks
>FREETARD FREETARD FREETARD FREETARD RENT FREE RENT FREE RENT FREE RENT FREE RENT FREE RENT FREE RENT FREE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so don't use it? why are you using something else? are you fricking stupid? you rent free israelite
>Cannot watch some anime for some reason about codecs even though everything I have is .mkv
You've revealed your complete ignorance.
>Can't extract metadata from TMDB for some reason
Your directories need to follow the correct naming convention, otherwise jellyfin wont be able to tag it properly.
Should be like
Anime/
|- Gabriel Dropout/
| |- Season 0/ # OVAs and Specials go here
| |- Season 1/
| |- ...
|- Dropkick on My Devil/
|- Season 1/
|- Season 2
I've never been able to get naming conventions to work well with Anime. Too many specials, ovas, one-offs. I use a file picker on my HTPC nowadays.
Sonarr can automatically organize it for you
99.9% of anime work fine for me, the only two series I had to manually fix were Monogatari and Tenchi
LMFAO grow the frick up you homosexual ass loser. "I'm 35 and I watch cartoons, because the world outside is so cruel to me, ever since I was a kid and I'm DIFFERENT, quirky, odd, and cool."
you ok bro?
kek, suddenly, homosexuals crossing their arms and replying scornfully
Where do you think you are?
are you black?
Ok ai
>t. snake
cartoon watching neckbearded homosexual losr.
I don't have this problem but I use Plex instead of troon-core "free" software.
emby works pretty good for me, anon. much less jank and less fussy metadata updates
the devs dont mention even mention Emby file structure, not everyone knows jellyfin is a fork.

I have my Jellyfin set up to a separate router without internet via ethernet, but, when I want to download torrents to add to my jellyfin library, I rely on a tethered (USB C) connection from my tablet that's connected to another router that has internet. However, it seems like one connection tries to, or does cancel out the other intermittently. Is there a way I can restrict the router from attempting to connect to the internet and only use it for accessing files on Jellyfin? Linux Mint user and server.
Disable DHCP on one of your routers, use static IP
check your logs
>he thinks .mkv is a codec
fricking hell IQfy gets shittier by the day. your opinion is meaningless if you're this moronic.
>anime
found your problem. stop watchine japanese slop and you won't have this problem
>use plex
>it just werks
works on my machine (aside from the rare time the metadata tagging is wrong and I just manually fix it)
>letting Jellyfin handle any metadata or media management
hahahahahahahahahahaha
That's not how you jellyfin boy
NTA, but what should I use to manage my media metadata?
on further reading you've clearly fricked something
this is all on you
shokofin won't be enough to save this moronation
can't play mkvs? lol
My library never fetched metadata to begin with. Stopped debugging after a few hours and went back to plex. Just works.
I tried jellyfin for a week and while it was cool and things just worked, it felt like I was just adding extra steps to watching anime. eventually went back to just using the filepicker. I'm probably not the target audience for jellyfin since I only watch anime at my desktop.
life sucks that much that you delve into the weakest of fantasies, anon? fricking cartoons, bro? damn homie
i love jellyfin but
>metadata tagging sucks ass
i use radarr/sonarr for that so no problem
>phone app + smart tv interaction
casting to the tv and using the phone as a remote is buggy. also the watch together shit doesn't even exist in the TV app I'm pretty sure, and if you turn it on the phone and try to cast it to the TV from there it doesn't work
>anime
since i let sonarr handle metadata maybe it's more of a problem there, but it's all built for TV shows and organizing anime with it is janky. maybe they made an animarr or some shit but i dont watch enough anime to care
