you forgot (or deliberately ignored) the second part of my post, which is that the company's focus is split between crypto and actually improving the product. Which is why I'd rather use another browser that actually allocates resources to the right places.

The only reason they're improving the browser is because they're being paid to do it by the people that care about the crypto part. If they were working for free, then the browser would have 5000 forks like firefox where they get nothing done.

there's actually nothing stopping people from forking the browser and just removing anything related to crypto, but I don't think anyone has even done this because it's not turned on by default and they don't care.
The crypto features are optional. I keep them disabled.
It also has a password manager but I use an external one, and the ability to use a guest profile but I'm the only person who uses this machine. Unless you make the software yourself, or it only does one specific thing, there's always going to be features some users don't care about. It's not like these features take up huge amounts of space. Brave's install size is within a few percent of Chromium's. Some users do find those features appealing, so more features will drive more users, more revenue, better ability to work on the features you do care about. There's not some fixed amount of money to spend; it doesn't have to work as a zero-sum game across development threads.

The reason is that Mozilla's business model depends on getting paid to set Google as the default search engine. When Firefox had 40% market share, the result was that Google became the behemoth it is today, because Firefox is just an on-ramp for Google products.
Brave also contains an adblocker and the abilty to open .onion websites without having to download any extension or a separate tor browser, making it possible even for moronic normies to use these things.
Google absolutely wants to prevent this because they depend on advertising revenue and selling their users' data, which tor and adblockers make much harder to do.

I have Brave rewards turned on. Brave News, Brave notifications, and Brave new tab sponsored images, all with Brave ads, are activated. I'm really enjoying the BAT tokens that I'm collecting. Being Brave isn't just a way of life, it's also allowed me to be apart of a new paradigm shift for the internet. Without the Brave Browser, I would be preyed upon and defenseless. I now understand what being Brave truly means.

Brave is a fine browser and I've used it in the past. I currently use librewolf or firefox + arkenfox/user.js with uBlock origin, switching between the two when one breaks a site and I have no problems or reason to install a third browser.

I've used Brave before. No complaints with it other than sometimes an update breaks the ability to rearrange tabs. Never touched the crypto integration shit simply because I have no reason to. You failed to mention the shit not working. Just installed it on my Xperia XZ1, configured some settings, added some feeds to Brave News, started a sync chain on Xperia XZ2, enabled sync everything. Apparently it doesn't sync a shit even after 2 hours of waiting.
Also the shit still not have a button to disable dark theme for site, simplify page option never show up, and can't show open tabs as list.
