>FOSS drivers
>moronic devs break the basic shit
>open up a bug report
>they spend the next 2 months discussing what exactly did they break and 4 months discussing something
this is why the year of Linux desktop will never come. Anyone afflieted with freedesktop are moronic
tl;dr fug arisu

do it again or i call the police!
definitely using this line next time I get "raped" by a cute girl
What was the artist thinking when he drew this?
Cute and funny things
She found a 500 yen coin on the ground. How lucky! She can buy some extra candy!
Truth.
ARISSUUUUUUI AAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
nkdsh my wife arisu
arisu is a b***h
Go back to Windows. I've used Linux since 1999 and must conclude most problems are self-inflicted by stupid children who aren't serious about computers. They deserve what they get.
I've never needed to open a bug report though reading them was sometimes useful. Since I'm not mentally ill I do not chase ideal performance or ideal anything, I just use tools to get work done.
>ideal performance or ideal
in this case, its shit not working at all
my issue is documented and not self inflicted.
Why are you using a freetard OS?
If you insist on using a freetard OS, why are you using the shitty freetard drivers on a shitty freetard OS? Do you want to make your computer as hard to use as possible?
because mesa is the best there is
Tachibana Arisu-chan is such a good little girl...
Why should I believe your bug report was legitimate and not a "spacebar heating"-type issue that wasn't necessarily wrong? That would explain the discussing.
its legit and they still discuss it for months
>Proprietary software break some shit
>Gets put on priority 2 and never developed
uoh
GPUs are a fricking trainwreck. Post link to ticket and I'll explain why it takes forever to fix.
NTA but please explain this
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues/3343
Hi Jacob,
Resizable BARs are the New Normal(TM) and nobody is going to care too much if shit breaks with a fixed BAR, that was always a mistake by the PCIe people anyway.
That said the AMD guy seems to be looking into it anyway, you gotta give him more than a week. It's gonna be some stupid fricking bug in the memory manager that takes a while to find.
its not me. I am a guy who found this ticket after Dota started crashing (and found it after I found a ticket on the issue in Valves bug tracker where valve employee directed people there), Linux build crashses and windows build doesnt.
How the frick does that work?
As in a Windows build that uses Vulkan, running on Wine? Maybe the Linux one does some platform-specific nonsense, who knows.
I dont have an old motherboard for frick sake. Why do I need to suffer from this shit? moronic shit
like hello lets just break a motherboard that was only bought like 5 years ago lmao
now I am supposed to start messing with BIOS update, why cant these morons just not break shit?
The issue was filed a week ago. What kind of turnaround do you expect? AMD corporate barely gives two fricks about their Linux drivers anyway.
I just cannot understand how they break something a motherboard bought 5 years ago relies on. Do they not test their shit?
And my experience is that AMD drivers on Linux are way better than on Windows. My friend who uses AMD on Windows has these crash problems happen in every situation and he has worse performance
its open source why dont you just fix it yourself instead of whining about something you're not paying for
I am paying for the GPU and by that I pay just as much as I would pay for non-FOSS drivers. Your point is moot. I dont need to be a cook to question the food.
Does the GPU manual tell you to use the GPU on linux?
also looking at the discussion about this problem, the team really messed up when this problem involves LTS kernel as well
>Do they not test their shit?
Probably not. This looks like an obscure edge case that would take an actual human QA tester to run into. I'm sure AMD doesn't run every minor Mesa release through a QA cycle, that would be a huge dollar pyre.
>obscure edge case
most motherboards I'd say dont have rebar enabled and this issue oncerns OW2, Lies of P, Dota 2, CS2 and Starfield at least
Surely this isnt obscure?
and this issue basically makes all of these games unplayable, the games dont get past menu.
also Last Epoch apparently also crashes. I think I read somewhere also people complaining about other games being more crashy now.
Well, most Linux users are on Ubuntu, which I believe ships Linux 6.8.1 at the moment? Updooters BTFO, always have been.
yeah well the broken shit got into LTS kernel
and if Steam statistics are to be trusted, over half of people who play on Linux are Arch users on way or another
>6.9rc-5+/6.8.9+/6.6.30+
basically all of these are affected
So just switch back to a kernel that isn't fricked. What's the problem?
imagine defending pushing broken shit to LTS
Imagine getting mad at your problems instead of fixing them.
Complain to AMD if it really rustled your jimmies that much.
why do you feel the need to defend pushing broken shit on LTS?
>video game child
>posts cartoons like a moronic child
yup you deserve to suffer
>pedomoeshit
>ok
>cobson
>instantly deleted by janny and user banned in the process
seething
you can fix the drivers yourself you probably should if its important. Just revert until the problem is fixed lookup the specific commit that caused it and then point the dev to it.
they hated him because he told the truth
>games
Why aren't you using windows? Linux is for servers and they don't use neither care about displaying graphics neither sound.
gaming is funded and supported on Linux by multibillion companies
