Fr. Seraphim Rose

Let's discuss the literary works of one of Lucifer's strongest agents (besides Marx, Nietzsche, Martin Luther, and pretty much all the post-Ockham German intelligentsia): San Diego homosexual and junkie Eugene Dennis Rose (aka. Seraphim Rose).

As most educated Christians should know by now, this neo-pagan sodomite co-opted the Russian Orthodox Church of America, and brought the teachings of the devil to it. Although he currently resides in hell with his true master, his literary works have taken a toll on the contemporary groups of Christians, specially of strayed Evangelicals who seek meaning and community in fringe Internet cliques.

To these boys, Seraphim Roses preaches, from the grave, conceitedness and combativeness against their fellow Christians---a true scandalizer, one could say.

The holy trinity, according to the teachings of Seraphim Rose, goes as follow:
    >The Father
    Which is Satan himself
    >The Son
    Which is Rose
    >The Holy Spirit
    Which is homosexuality
    His communion is drugs.

I won't speak anymore with you, as you'll distort my words once again and attempt to use them against me. You've already revealed the demonic origin of your rhetoric. The disciples of Rose shouldn't be argued with, but rather slaughtered by the sword of Jesus' might---pack of swindlers, vermin, and scandalizers.

Rose just strikes me as new agey 60s hippie bullshit but it took the form of Eastern Christianity rather than stupid George Harrison Hinduism pajeet shit as was more common among the new agers of the time.

Maybe he said some good things. He probably also internalized a lot of bullshit from his mentor, level 99 bullshit-peddler Alan Watts.

Fr. Seraphim Rose's toll-house theory deviates from Orthodox teachings by suggesting that demons play a crucial role in judging the soul's fitness for heaven, a concept not supported by scripture or the teachings of the Church Fathers. By likening the soul's ascent to passing through demonic spheres, Rose's theory echoes elements of Gnostic cosmology, where souls must navigate through various celestial realms and overcome obstacles to reach the divine. This departure from traditional Orthodox doctrine raises concerns about the source and legitimacy of Rose's beliefs, indicating a potential influence from Gnostic ideas rather than orthodox Christian theology.
His adaptation of the toll-house theory aligns with certain aspects of Gnostic eschatology, such as the belief in intermediary realms and celestial beings influencing the soul's journey. His emphasis on the importance of secret knowledge (gnosis) and the role of rituals and prayers in aiding the soul's passage bears resemblance to Gnostic practices aimed at spiritual liberation. This blending of Orthodox theology with Gnostic elements raises questions about the authenticity and compatibility of Rose's teachings within the framework of traditional Christianity, highlighting the need for discernment and adherence to established doctrinal principles.
This "secret knowledge" stuff is one of the elements of his teaching that makes him the most attractive to many young people of these days.

NTA but another catholic here. Toll house theory resembles a lot of earlier astrological beliefs of questionable orthodoxy but which have always been rather popular particularly in medieval and ancient world.

However, it is readily apparent that Seraphim Rose is a grifter. I respect Orthodoxy but he is basically the JBP of the Orthodox Church. Then again, there are many grifters even within the holy Catholic church. I suppose maybe it is not so bad if it leads some lost folx to Jesus regardless. I just worry many become prelests thereafter rather than sincere converts.

Because they're invariably attracted to kitschy polemics. I don't know of a single American personality in these spheres now who doesn't betray their Americanness, no matter how rigorous. A certain cartoonish quality in how they perceive the world, like Rose calling yoga demonic.

Adhering/blindly conforming to 2000 year old institutional dogma is one of the hallmarks of the spiritually undeveloped. There's a strong demonic energy emanating from this picture. I'll call my local bishop to see if an exorcism of this thread is necessary.
    >like Rose calling yoga demonic.
From all the things he said, that was one of the only ones that were true. We know for a fact that the demons who possessed entered his body through Rose's parctice of yoga, drug usage, and homosexual activities. Perhaps that was a glimps of the real soul of Rose trying to warn us.

He was gay before he became a monk, and like all monks pledged celibacy. He's not the first nor last monk to be gay when he was living a secular life. Most of the writings I've read of him are entirely Christian.
