literally all of youtube transcodes audio in opus, which in the case of official youtube music uploads comes from a lossless source
how can you be so moronic
do you even know what this thread is about?

exactly youtube transcodes it for their garbage encodes just like the anime homosexuals
nobody is using that shit in anything valuable
its more internet garbage like webp
keep your opus garbage on the internet you anime homosexual

I'll keep transcoding my music to 96k Opus, thanks.
            >nobody is using that shit in anything valuable
yeah because mp3 is apparently great to archive audio

God I hope so! But this is not about audiophools. It's just a fact that there are many low quality encodes on YT. Nicht ve okay for Black person music but everything with high hats sounds like shit with lq encodes.

          Compared to what? Spotify?

320kbit MP3 though 192Kbit or VBR is also acceptable.

          [...]
          What quality does Spotify use?

Dunno but if you put it to high quality it's fine afaik and still sounds better than a lq yt encode. But admittedly not all encodes on yt are crap. A lot of them are indeed good enough but there are also a lot of terrible ones since the uploaded was a moron.

It only plays stuff from YouTube Music and YouTube combined
If I remembered correctly, there was this app called Spotube? and you can play music off Spotify and you don't have to use premium, just have a Spotify account and there you go, ad free music without any premium. Though I tried using it myself, it was pretty slow.
      https://f-droid.org/packages/oss.krtirtho.spotube/
There was some app that you download music from Spotify, I don't know if it works.
I'm a moron but if I remembered correctly, AwesomePiracy had some websites or apps but yet again, I didn't really look at it because I was mostly looking for other apps.

DoubleDouble is what you're looking for
FYI Spotify's catalog is in 256kbps AAC. If you ever see a 320kbps MP3 claiming to be from Spotify, someone is fricking with you.

I used DoubleDouble.top to download a track now and VLC says it's 320kb/s
      Are they fricking with me?

        If it's 320kbps MP3, then yes. If it's 320kbps Vorbis, then no, that's one of Spotify's encodes: https://support.spotify.com/us/artists/article/audio-file-formats/

Deemix still works with a premium ARL. Alternatively you can use OnTheSpot. Think you need a premium account for that as well. Downloads and converts Spotify stuff into MP3.

yt-dlp worked on soundcloud last time I checked. You can download the tracks you don't find on soundcloud from youtube as a temporary solution until you find them in le audiophile quality somewhere else.

Ok So I've been using spotify++ since forever, last time I downloaded it was almost three years ago and that was pretty easy.
But now I got a new phone and I'm wondering if that's still a thing? looked it up on yt and it seems to have become some sort of scam so I'd rather avoid doing it now. Back then I downloaded it from some weird chinese looking app store but I forgot its name.
So how do I transfer the spotify app from my old android to my new one without losing the rigged premium features?

you can download from spotify using zotify, and it actually decrypts their files, not redownload from other places.
