Are you forgetting how it was written? Unclear if the blade is pressed against her throat or actually slitting her throat. It's far from the first time he's done this too. Not to mention, the very next chapter pulls the same shit with Arya "getting an axe to the back of her head". Bet she isn't dead though.

Such a shame though because the first book, and to a large extent the second, didn't have so many hack elements like this. Past the first third of the third book, it's taken an epic nose dive in quality.
She dies but gets resurrected and becomes a zombie bent on revenge.
Well that sounds fricking grand. I knew to expect these books to get worse, but they maintained high quality long enough that I got lulled into a false sense of security.

It's first person perspective, of course the chapter ends when the POV loses consciousness. That's literally how perspective works.
