Getting into reading for the first time at 42. Went out and bought this stack of books and set a goal of getting all of them read in the next 4 years. Any recommendations you guys have would be appreciated.

Its good to have goals!
That Fahrenheit 451 reads somewhat like a movie screenplay. It is a somewhat easy read. I don't know about the others, I have never read any of them..
You may want to consider consulting a dermatologist.
>no Faulkner
you went to a fancy steakhouse and ordered nothing but appetizers (i’m sure this image is from reddit anyway)
Based, starting sanctuary soon! Going chronologically
Nothing compares to Faulkner. But don’t burn out because he has multiple masterpieces that will take a while to get to if you go chronologically.
My copy of Sanctuary has a shitty cover but I like it anyway.
Shut up homosexual

What eceleb is it?
Pretty good books to start out with, personally i'd skip the Rushdie thought but that's up to you.
These books are all kinda the must-read american classics except you're missing the three best ones from that category: Twain, Hemingway, and Fitzgerald.
The Gammage Cup, The Hobbit, The Face in the Frost, A Wizard of Earthsea, The Red Fairy Book, The Acts of King Arthur and His Noble Knights, The Mabinogion (translated by Lady Charlotte Guest), The Knight by Gene Wolfe, The Marvelous Land of Oz, Beowulf (translated by Seamus Heaney)
Thanks but none of these sound interesting to me
No problem.
Did you post this redditor so that we would crap on him? Stop being petty dude. Live and let live
Live and let live moron

He rapes his sister, Phoebe.
That's all fine for dipping your toes in, but get in the habit of reading through entire authors' catalogues. Library of America omnibuses are you friend.
